Title: Famicom internal controller connector
Post by: MsK` on November 30, 2021, 05:28:39 am
Hello,

Does anybody know the part name of the internal controller connectors on the original famicom?

Pictures from some I de-soldered and used in something I'm building:
 - Player 1, cable side

 - Player 2, pcb side

I heard it's proprietary unfortunately. The Twin is said to have a industry standard 2.54 mm pin header but not the original Famicom.
The pinout should be like this:

Famicom Controller Port Pinout (front)

 Port I     Port II
  _____     ______
 |12345|   |123456|
  ¯¯ ¯¯     ¯¯  ¯¯
P I   1: +5V, 2: CLK $4016, 3: P/S, 4: Data $4016.0, 5: GND
P II  1: +5V, 2: CLK $4017, 3: P/S, 4: Data $4017.0, 5: GND, 6: Mic $4016.2
Note: P/S is strobe and comes from the $4016.0 output on both controllers.
