Title: FDSStick Error Reading Disk
Post by: RazorX on January 25, 2022, 01:13:04 pm
hi guys, i finally got the replacement belt for my famicom disk system and installed it as well as modded the system to have full write support.
i also made my own FDSStick link cable in order to do that but i'm getting this error:

this is the pinout i did so please let me know if this is correct:

(the colors are just what the wires were in the scart cable i used)

looking at the pins on the back of the connector, the snes connector ridge you need to file off is on the top.
i am running this on a windows 10 laptop using a usb 2.0 port.

here is some more pictures:

my power board was an 05 so i also modded that for write support as well as added the mod board to the disk drive itself.
this is how i modded the system:

i've since shortened the link cable but it still gives me the same error.

Update:
everything is now working, somehow i forgot to reattach CN2 (which is the magnetic reader i believe) when putting everything back together :D
now i get why it wasn't reading disks lol
