Title: Suggestions for safe removal of eject button
Post by: DragonmasterDan on October 24, 2022, 02:54:07 pm
After many many treatments of retr0bright and a ruined front decal I have finally upgraded to a correct colored original style famicom. The only problem is the eject button has a crack in it. I plan to transplant the nice looking eject button from the "ugly" unit to the new one. I've heard people saying to use a hair dryer to heat up the plastic before attempting removal but I wanted to see if the forum had any other suggestions.

If I'm not mistaken, the reset button is essentially a key cap. I would expect it will pull off without any harm but warming it with a hair dryer won't hurt anything (unless you the heat too close for too long).

Alas, just trying to remove the old one caused a crack. I'll probably settle with the current eject button for now.
