Well, I'll go out on a limb and say that, yes, this would fry a Famicom. Why?
Because most power supplies are center-positive, and the Famicom needs a center-negative one.
It is in fact so common to see the former, that the manufacturer decided to skip this absolutely vital information. You would unfortunately need a multimeter to check for sure, but the chance is fairly low, I'd say.

Thanks for your info, but turns out all I needed was a universal AC adapter that DOES have center negative. It works!
