I just want to know my Xbox didn't want to come on tonight..I was about to play some retro gaming...I got the old model with the plug when you press red reset & a yellow test button..No Light came on, when I pressed the reset button..it pops back up..I'm going to take it to Gamecrazy on Monday..I'm not going to take a chance trying to turn it on
My plug does that to. Push the button in and then give it just a little slack. It will try to pop out but you finger will stop it. Hold it there for a sec then let go. The light should be red, but your XBOX should still power up.
I'm sorry for your xbox failing on you but I was just wondering how did you moded it? Because I have an unmoded xbox and would like to play retro stuff in it....
That isn't a mod. It was a serge protection plug that microsoft was giving away for those of us that had XBOX's from before 2003.
My XBOX is modded with an Xecuter 2.6 CE chip with switch. You can mod yours for almost nothing using an exploit/softmod. You can get them off of the usual places(XBINS) but you need a few things first. Google it.

That's good news. You know the xbox console is being sold for 60 bucks at EB games now...and gamecubes at 30 bucks !!! it's insane!!! The ps2 still a little expensive but I'll wait a little bit more so I can get the fat model one.
GC's at my local EB's are $49 with 4 games.
