Whoa, SMB3 never ceases to amaze me. When I think I know everything about it, things like these pop up.

BTW, will it work on the American version?

I've never played the original version of this game (only the SNES version)...It's so different!  But the Famicom version is really impressive...

Off-topic, yeah, so what...

I actually own the NES cart, but I just haven't gotten around to cleaning it.  Haha...

But I did play the SNES version, so it's not like I never played the game...

That's good then because SMB3 is said to be the best Super Mario Bros game ever released. I agree to that  ;D

I wouldn't even begin to know how to do that. I'd like to call it a glitch, but you never know. Maybe it was the original ending but they just scrapped it for anoter one and moved it outa the way?

Or maybe it's accessed by another level in the game.

I think I remember this from a UK Mag-SMB3 secrets section in 1991. I am sure of it as after watching the link I remember certain elements of how to get there. But I never tried it as I could not be bothered to trek to World 4.

Use the warp whistle to get quickly to world 4 ;).

Heheh, so I just cleaned a lot of my NES stuff, and gave SMB3 a try.  It's weird, the colors seems really bland to me...

Anyway, I quickly warped to World 8, and failed to get very far in it, then gave up.  It's hard!

Well no kidding. Skipping to the boss world is a bit of a jump.

And I meant Warp Flutes. Those are sexy. I onnly know of the 2 in the first world. Are there any others?

 :o  :o  :o

Never heard of that before.
Nice! :D It's cool to see there are people still discovering stuff like that.

Alright, I just played SMB3 on Super Mario All-Stars for my SNES today, and I beat it!  It really isn't so hard after you know what to do, and especially if you can unlock all the locks in World 8 so that, even if you get a Game Over, you can just jump right back to the final castle.

I think that was the first time I beat that game.  ><

First time?  :o

That was about time!  :D

Congrats.

I still havent beaten number 3. i got to the final boss without using flutes when i was way younger, but damn these games get harder as u get older. :P

haha you know I find it the opposite in a lot of cases. I think games get easier over time. Except for games that were just tough as nails to begin with, such as beating Contra or Super C with just the 3 lives.

I'm with Maxximus here.
There are games I beat easily when I was younger, but I find harder now. ??? Getting old is hard... :'(

Haha. Yeah. Don't get me wrong though. The games are still a lot of fun!

The 3 warp whistles are:

1) At the back of the black stuff on world 1-3, use the white block near the exit to go back there.
2) World 1 Fortress, fly over the roof before the first door, go right and press up, that should take you there.
3) World 2, at the far right end of the map (near the castle), get the hammer from one of the hammer bros. and break the top rightmost rock on the map screen, go right and you'll face two fire bros and a mushroom house containing the last whistle.

And yeah, going from World 1 to World 8 is not a good idea mmkay, you want to stock up on items :P.
