I was looking around the net recently and found out about the sega nomad, and i'm interested in buying one. But they seem to be rare on ebay and costly, so I was wondering where I could find one that works and is a little less pricey.
good luck. The Sega Nomad was commerially a failure, so very few were made compared to any other console. The Nomad was also very initially really impensive, for $199 US.
You probably wont find one period, but if you do it'll be costly.
tons of them on american ebay, just search. they run 60-100 dollars, depends upon how many accessories and games they have
Take a look over at Digital Press...I think someone there has one :) .
thanks for reminding me about the Nomad keiffer01. I always wanted to get one of these, but I coulnd't afford one when I was younger. Now I've bought one!
you bought one?! Where on Ebay? :o
*BUMP*
Im still looking for one of these. I look on ebay but god I think this handheld is WAY over priced to play Sega Genesis games on the go! All I want to do is play maybe 2-4 sega games on the go and not on a psp emulator since, I dont know it doesn't feel the same as playing it on real hardware. I really don't care if this is supposedly rare or not its not for collecting I just wanna play with it! :D So if anyone's got one for CHEAP and not in perfect condition (well, it atleast need to have all the buttons and it needs to work lol I mean I dont care if its scratched a little.) well please respond to this post. Thanks in advance ;)
Try to hit your local pawn shops or flea markets.....hopefully you'll get lucky and find one.
Sadly that's what I've been doing for the past 4 years and still no luck :-\ I remeber seeing them when I was about 6 at this pawn shop and they were brand new in the box, just lying there on the shelves behind the counter. Sadly back then I didn't know what it was so I never even hesitated to even take a good look at it. But today I regret soooo badly! :-\
I can sell you mine, but its screen apparently got damaged during shipping, leaving bright orange stuck pixels across the centre of the screen. This is the kind of thing that I can't tolerate, but if its not a big deal to you or you have some means to repair it, I'll gladly sell it.
Nomad includes:
Sega Nomad System
A rechargeable battery pack
AC Adapter
asking $60 + shipping
You could get one of those Sega Retro things.
Not a nomad, and no cartridge port, though :-\
Are you talking of those Playpal systems? If so I already own one and i'm planning on selling it. :D
My friend bought a Sega Nomad at the local gaming store about 2 monthes ago for only 89.99$.
Its badly scratched, but it has a port for a second controller and it can be plugged into his television with the right cord.
That's cool :) But still I think 90$ is too steep for a sega genesis. Tommorrow I'm going going down to New York for a whole week so Imaybe I might find something at some pawn shop or at some kind of videogame store.

Nomads, are pretty rare.
Your better off buying a Game Gear and a MasterGear Converter; the adapter will allow you to use real Genesis cartridges on Game Gear. Total price would be about 65$ with adapter included, on ebay.
If I remember correctly the Game Gear was 8-bit and not capable of playing Genesis games. I think that converter plays Master System games.
True. You can only play Master System Games on the Game Gear. Which is also very nice I guess.
It's possible you might find one for a deal but it's going to take forever and even then probably won't happen. There's one getting ready to end on ebay that is just a clean system, no box and it's already $122. Vintage gaming prices have exploded in the last 5+ years. Not even just the rarer stuff either, everything. People with money are willing to pay out large sums to get the things their parents wouldn't buy them as kids so any intelligent shop owner is going to raise the price accordingly. Pay to play, it's what the games industry is built on.

Hey thanks for the link nurd! Now thats a good price! :) I just hope it isn't already sold!
EDIT; just realized he only ships in the US! :( Hope he can make an exception for Canada.
Found one yet?
There is a Boxed (Not new, though) Nomad at Toyriffic for $99.95
That's a pretty cheap nomad. I wonder if he sold it yet...I think he would have taken it out right?
Why not send him a message?
I wouldn't wonder though if it's gone already. Good and tempting price.
I don't really want the nomad besides already spent the extra money I had this week....
