ps2 with 20 games for 10 bucks

oh and one time I found something Konami related which was a bag full of yugioh cards for a dollar. I am dazzled because there were cards that were worth 50 dollars and up in the bag. I ended up selling them on ebay.  ;D

I was at a flea market and saw a R.O.B. with all the Gyromite parts.  I didn't see it until I was on my back to my car, though, so I had already blown all my cash.  I told my mom about it later when I got home and, come to find out, the guy running the table was one of her co-workers.  He was just going to throw out R.O.B. since no one bought him, so he gave him to me for free!

Easily my best flea market find ever!

Poor R.O.B, he just wanted to be your friend and now you complain about him being in the SSBB roster.

Yeah, I don't find much in yard sales anymore. Unfortunately, it just seems that there are not much classic gamers here anymore. :(

Just something in it needs to be replaced.
I don't know what it is, but it just doesn't play games. It gets an error or something. It can play Music Cds, though.

A thrift store is like a pawn shop, right?

Our pawn shop has things waay overpriced.
Tengen Nes Skull N Bones (or whatever it's called) and they wanted like $20 for it :p
Title: Re: Finds [yard sales]
Post by: MaxXimus on February 07, 2008, 02:19:51 pm
Its like a second hand shop, like a good will or a pawn shop.

Ug. Our goodwill is horrible.

It's weird, everything is overpriced.
At goodwill.  :-\
Title: Re: Finds [yard sales]
Post by: michaelthegreat on February 16, 2008, 07:39:44 pm
Yeah, the norms are overpriced, but the rares aren't because they don't know what they're doing at the thrift stores. Got dragon quest V in great condition for $1.50, and I got that, um, why can't I think of that exercise game's name for $3.50 with the controller plug. Oh, yeah racermate.

But yeah, I also paid 3.50 for a smb/dh because I wanted my first glop top.

I got a Sega Genesis(v2) with 13 carts (one is a 6-1) and 4 controls for $45 out of a Buy and Sell magazine. The RF switch seems to be broken though, so I am going to go on ebay and get an AV cord.

Well, around my place, there are lots of garage sales in the summer, so every year during the summer I depart from my house with 40$, my bicycle and an empty school bag, and I bike around my city to find games in garage sales. By doing this I found MANY games for VERYcheap prices. Here are games and stuff I found in garage sales around my place;

Earthbound Complete in Box (SNES) - 5$
Mario Paint Brand New (SNES) - 3$
Two Sega Dreamcast systems - 1$ for both
Intellivision 2 with lots of boxed games ( about 25 games) -3$
Famicom pirate carts (Contra, Kung-fu, Mario 3, 76-1) - 5$
Super Mario 2 lost levels Famicom pirate - 3$
Boxed near mint NES Power Set - 10$
Lots and LOTS of NES games - about 5$ for 15 games
Game & Watch Mario Bros. - 3$
Game & Watch Snoopy Tennis - 50 cents
Game & Watch Goldcliff and Popeye tabletop - 5$ each
Virtual Boy system with 10 games! - 25$
Sega Game Gear with Sonic 2 game - 3$
2 Boxes filled with Coleco systems, sega genesis systems, Sega Master systems and LOTS of various games for various consoles ( most for Sega Genesis though) - 10$

The list could go on and on, but yeah I think i'll stop that to there! ;D

Do you have an extra working Sega Genesis RF switch or AV cable (preferable AV) you'd be willing to sell for cheap. I need one, and ebay prices aren't that good. ($12)

I've got no idea where all the gamers near me disappeared to but I need to find them.

I know, right!

And I hate how most people with garage sales with any type of game thinks that it is rare and valuable.

Yeah that's true. I went to this guy who was selling a popeye famicom pirate cart, a sega dreamcast controller, 3 NES games, and a MicroVision pirate NES controller. I asked what he was asking for each item, and he always kept telling me 5$ for everything on the freakin' table! >:( 5$ for a NES controller!? I just left everything there and told myself to shove his 5$ up his ass.

And by the way, I bought another NES system with two controllers and all cables, and it came with a ''Golden cart 260 games in 1'' :) All for only 5$! ;D This cart is truly the best pirate multicart I have ever seen! :o

Lucky.

I hardly ever get anything good these days.
I wish that I could find a garage sale of some 30some year old guys parents, who have no Idea what stuff is worth, who have a large box of NES stuff for $8.

That would be a good day.

I would also love that, but instead I would like it to be filled with LOTS of rare and some unreleased prototypes, just like (ummm...what was the name...jollyrancher I think?) found a couple of years ago. He bought every game for about 40 cents each and sold them for thousands of dollars a piece!  I would DIE just to have an Earthbound proto, and the guy had two of them! :o Now that my friend is FREAKIN LUCKY! :-\

The games aside though, if any of you need blankets and toys for young children there is a surplus of them. Each sale seems to have more than the last!

Back to the sales though, I was at one table and saw Super Glove Ball. At the time I had a Power Glove but was still trying to find Super Glove Ball (I hadn't been looking very hard, mind you). Anyway I ask her how much she wants for the cart and she say she wants 15 bucks. Being the nice guy I am, I respectfully declined (she doesn't know prices or anything so I can't blame her) and walked away. Then I threw up. :-\

A week later I found it for something like 50 cents.

One time, I saw The Sims , New in box at a garage sale.

Price sticker, $2USD

I said "Will you take $1.50 for it?"

And she said no.

That lady was a bitch.

2$ isn't THAT much, though. ::)

It was the way she said it, though.

Also, I only had $1.50.

I hate that when you find something you like, regardless of where it is, and you are just under the amount you need. :( It's happened to me MANY TIMES.

YOU SHOULD HAVE! The C64 is one of the best computer game systems ever! :)

I have one in box, and I have a bunch of games, and joysticks, and a fast load cartridge(so you don't need to type in load "*",8,1 or what ever it is you need to type in(sometimes it's the game name, sometimes it's list, bla bla bla))

I bought a Commodore 64 system about 4 years ago for 20$. It came with te floppy drive, controllers and diskettes and complete in box games. I played with it, but for some reason I just can't seem to like the Commodore 64 that much :-\ One game i did like though was Kickman I think :P

You should try The Great Gianna sisters. It's a great game, and plays almost identical to Super Mario Bros. :P  I own it. :)

I went to a flea market today. Didn't find anything, but I was audited by some Scientologists with their E-meter. It was kinda weird. Turns out, I've got very little to no stress! Good for me, bad for them. :)

What?

A V/Guy Fawkes mask would suffice.

I'd do it without a mask.

Just to hurt there feeling is enough for me, I don't care if they see my face. :P

I guess I'm not a very good person.

There's a lot of harm that can come from people believing bullshit. Nevertheless, I try to avoid unnecessary confrontation. I prefer a soft conversation twined with heightened reason. Doesn't always work the first time...

They didn't try to push anything, so I didn't. They didn't even offer me Dianetics. They had stacks of it.
