The subject says it all I guess.
Apart from video games I also buy movies sometimes, so I thought I'd make a thread about it.
I own around 400 DVDs (rough estimate) right now, that's a lot more than I own videogames.
Here's what I ordered five minutes ago:
The King of Queens IPS Superbox (http://www.amazon.de/King-Queens-Superbox-Staffel-komplett/dp/B0012CF8TS/ref=dp_return_1?ie=UTF8&n=284266&s=dvd-de)

In December last year amazon.com had a sale on Blu-Ray discs. That's when I ordered "March of the Penguins" (for my wife... she loves penguins) and "Enter the Dragon". 10$ each. Was a very good deal IMHO.

Looks like people aren't big DVD, etc., fans. I'm not. I own only something like 10. But, hell, I'm picky when it comes to films.
I tend to by 70's Kung Fu flicks & Hong Kong action cinema. I still use dvd and I doubt that I will upgrade to either HD or Blue Ray. DVD is good enough for me ;D

Amen to that. I still use a TV bought in 1989 (with remote control, on screen display and AV inputs!) which is still going as new, I'm not rushing to buy a HDTV ::).

I had that impression, because there wasn't any talk about it before. :)
For now, DVD is good enough for me, too. But I'm a sucker for movies, so I'd like to also see some innovations and improvements there.
I own maybe 100 or so DVD's Much of them are impulse buys though. :P
I rarely buy DVD's, I usually download the ISO and burn it to a disc, much cheaper, same as buying it. Did this for battle royale.
If I can't find an ISO or if it's something I want to own, I'll buy it (Gojira special edition FTW)
Now, DVD is a dead format to me. I generally won't watch something if it's in Standard Def, it's just not worth my time. HD-DVD and Bluray are obviously the wave of the future but I'm waiting for an easy method for piracy before I increase my disk collection. I have the HD DVD addon for the 360 and I eventually will buy a blu-ray player since they won, basically
I'm actually starting to collect dvds especially since they have them for 50 cents at some goodwill stores. I have around 20 now.
I still use VHS & Audio Tapes :D
Back on Topic : I have like 5 DVD Movies..All the Rest are TV Box Set of The Simpsons, Full House, Dark Angel, Transformers, Family Guy & So Little Time
Good thing you bought Blu-Ray, manuel. Looks like HDDVD is on its way out...already...thanks to Wal-Mart going Blu-Ray-exclusive.
Hehehe... ;D
I just bought Blu-Rays because I plan to buy a PS3 in the future. :D It's nice to see that I have my money on the winning format. :)
I also have 2 "stupid" reasons that I like Blu-Ray more:
1: The name "Blu-Ray" sounds far better (and is pronounced easier) than HDDVD
2: I like the blue disc cases better than HDDVD's red ones. They are more appealing to my eyes somehow.

It's not official yet, is it? They'll announce it some time this week.
it's official as of this writing, and paramount and universal will now publish on bluray
nice knowing you, hd-dvd
Alright, then. I'm waiting for dropping prices on Blu-Ray discs. :D
