Title: Help me in helping a friend
Post by: Profeta Yoshitake on February 19, 2008, 04:38:20 am
Hi there, Famicom Freaks!

I have a friend who is selling all of his videogame collection.
He has 1200+ games, three 29" TVs, PS3, Wii, PS2, Dreamcast,
N64, Saturn, PSX, XBOX, etc...

Everything is CIB and very well conserved except for the Super NES
cases that were cut for the showing.
Pretty crazy huh?

Do you know a madman who would buy this huge lot from him?
His problem selling overseas is the God-damned high Brazilian
shipping costs...

He is asking $35k on the entire collection plus shipping.

Please, help me helping him!

I'm pretty sure noone here has $35,000 to spend on video games. :P

ha, i wish i had it. I would make a trip to japan, scandinavia and scotland.

I think no one will buy that with such an amount. Its nice when everything is cib, but gamers who spend such money are according to me hardcore collectors and want stuff like prototype consoles and other obscure items.
Maybe he will sell it if everytihing come in parts.
But thanks for the info ;)

the amusing thing is at this price he is probably losing money for what he bought it for, those 1,200 games new @ 50 dollars a piece would be 60,000 alone....

There are lots of games CIB that go for way less than $50... I have a few MINT games CIB that I payed no more than $10 for shipped.

I think so, too.
35k$ is more than many people earn in a year.

As already said, he should try to sell everything piece by piece or in smaller lots.

Hell yeah, people!
Everybody agree that selling lots would help.
Except him.

Then he won't sell it I'm afraid. ::)

Wouldn't the shipping be 2-3k$, too? :o

My Pump it up machine cost about $2000 to $3000 (forget exactly what) to ship from Hong Kong to Canada. I fail to see how these games would cost that much to ship. Is shipping really that much of an issue from there?

I think 1200 games, 3 TVs and a lot of consoles are HEAVY and take a lot of space.
Hence it WILL be expensive.
I can't know exactly, though. I just put out a wild guess.

2-3000$ for shipping  :o  ... how much did the machine itself cost?

The machine itself was $2000 I think, but I also purchased a Pump it Up Zero upgrade when they first came out, and that was also $2000, so in total with shipping, $6000 to $7000.

Twin Famicoms are quite heavy. I think 67$ for shipping wasn't that bad, right?

A british neo geo mvs 6 slot machine with a 4 slot motherboard. Quite rare here in the netherlands.
Holland sucks with the arcade scene. 2 arcade halls in whole the country, i think 100 kilometers away from my house, bleh. One in Zandvoort and one in Scheveningen.
But thats cool maxximus, how is that worked out? With your arcade machine in an arcade hall? ???

My friend Mark owns the arcade where my machine is placed. I don't make any money off it, but I play it for free, and I don't need to pay him for the electricity and space it uses.
