Title: NES Cart Discoloration
Post by: Trevor Belmont on March 22, 2008, 05:43:51 pm
I just bought a NES game used and while the game works fine I noticed that on the sides of the cart it has turned almost white.

Anyone else have NES carts that have had this happen to them?

It happened to the calculator watch I've wore for the past 10 years, but it shouldn't happen to a NES cart (the plastic is not painted AFAIK)

I bet it is an Acclaim or LJN game, am I right?

No it's a Sunsoft game, Batman. My SMB3 cart has a little bit of white on the side also, But not as much as the Batman one.

I've seen that before, but I thought it had to do with stress/pressure on the cart, like they were underneath something heavy.

I would like to see a pic as well.  Not 100% sure exactly what you are meaning.  Lots of the LJN and Acclaim games have 2 different colors halves of the cart is why I mentioned them.

I will try to get a picture if I can, I'm thinking it might be what JC said. It looks like the plastic has had stress on it.

I might add that only the front half of the cart has this on it, The back half looks fine.
