Title: Best/Worst Game Voice-overs
Post by: Kuvio on May 10, 2008, 11:32:55 pm
I always love a game that has great voice acting. Likewise, I can't stand it when the voices sound chessy or downright terrible. So, I was wondering what titles come to mind? Here's mine...

Best: Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2, Final Fantasy XII (US)

Worst: Virtua Fighter 4 & 5 (US)

The best one would be hard for me to decide, but the worst is, hands-down, Mega Man 8 Anniversary Edition for PS1. Mega Man is voiced by a girl, Dr. Light has an Elmer Fudd-style speech impediment, and everyone noticeably flubs dialouge. It's funny as heck to listen to.

Best: John Truitt as Ghaleon

Worst: Mega Man 8, especially Mega Man... and for some reason I just don't like Mario's voice either.

The House of the Dead 2 for dreamcast/wii has to be one of the worst voice overs I ever heard in a game. In one part in the game this guy in his car is driving and has this zombie I think on the car, and the guy says without emotion,"oh no. please help me." I laughed so hard I spit out my dr.pepper while hearing this :D

Lol, just like in The Typing of the Dead

Guy: <without emotion> Oh no, help. THey are coming to get me. (or something like that)
Your Character: <without emotion> (after the zombies get the guy) There's nothing we could do.

It's still a cool game :P
