Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa recently got rated by the ESRB, which is a good sign that Nintendo plans on releasing it on the Wii virtual console. Another lost Famicom classic coming to America!

This is a great day! :D
I wouldn't mind owning the famicom cart also!
Oh shit that's nice. Isn't this a disk system only game?
There is a pirate cart of it, as well as the Mario Baby pirate. I do also think it was officially reliesed on cart, but I could be wrong about that.
I'm pretty sure it's FDS only, officially. They released SMB2j for the Virtual Console in Japan, so they must have some way of dealing with the FDS's quirks (loading screens, flipping disks, etc).
There are official carts. The FDS tanked, so it was re-released officially as a cart. When all else fails, check your cart list: HERE (http://www.famicomworld.com/Family_Computer/Games.htm#B).
the offical cart is $100+ loose. Well, actually you can get it for $70-$80 in ok to good condition on yahoo japan. Last time I checked, pink godzilla had it loose in their seatle store for $130.
They have released some fds versions of games on the jp virtual console--it's not like it's really harder to emulate them.
Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa was originally supposed to come out in America in 1989. It did not though, obviously, because Howard Philips of Nintendo did not think it was "up to par" for the American Market.
What the hell!? I hate when corporate America makes stupid decisions!

Not harder to emulate, true. But if you're playing it on the VC and you see a "SET SIDE B" message on the screen, what are you going to do? :P
There's some extra work involved in making the FDS games play seamlessly on the VC.
Instead of emulating, why wouldn't they just edit the source code for the game a bit, and just compile it with the wii dev?
Most, if not all, of the source code for the game is written in 6502 ASM. You can't really port ASM. Emulation is definitely the way to go. I imagine they get around the FDS load screens and stuff by modifying the emulator or the FDS bios rather than the game ROM.
Ooooohhhhhh! That is awesome! One of my favorites.. I have it on disk- fun fun. I sincerely hope this does come out for the Wii! Thanks for posting this Ugly Joe! ;D

Flip the Wiimote, of course ;D!
Seriously, it's not a big deal to do some ASM hacks to remove loading screens and such.
If anyone has a pirate cart with this game on it and willing to sell, let me know. 100 smackaroos for the 1993 cart is kinda steep, methinks...
Today I went to a pawn shop in my town with some friends and found a pirated copy of the game for Famicom! ;D I don't know if this is in all the different Bio Miracle pirate carts, but you can chose any stage in the game on the title screen. :) It's my first time playing it and I must say it's really neat! ;D
I just went to the Wii Shop channel and saw that Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa is finally released for the virtual console! Now all I want to see released on the virtual console is Earthbound...
That's awesome! I love that game! ;D
I want your pawn shop relocated to my area!
>:(

I think he was talking about this.
Our thift stores and pawn shops all suck.
I mean really. 14 dollars for a used shitty n64 game, that I can get for 99 cents at the game store 4 minutes away by bike.
Same here, everything it's too overpriced, and instead of lowering the prices over time the stuff sits rotting away for months until a new shipment comes in & the old stuff gets discarded instead of liquidated >:(
Look in their dumpsters. :P
I was looking in one behind Savers, and I found this metal box with a lock on it, but this guy who worked there came out and made me put it back.
Vaginal Cleansing Device:Hey kid put that back
Me: It's in a garbage bin, you obviously don't need it.
Vaginal Cleansing Device: WE DO TO NEED IT
I called him a bad name and biked away.
Yeah I'd do it if I knew where their dumpsters are :-\
There's a SNK building right down the road from me, I've looked in their dumpsters and never found anything. They won't let me in either. :-[
Dumpsters are probably the only way to find the things I like. Let me put my bathing suit on... :-\

Behind the building?
My sister told me a while back when the Playstation 1 and Nintendo 64 were the craze that one of her friends went behind a Blockbuster (dunno why though...) and he looked in the dumpster and found a playstation system! And the system still worked! :P

Behind the building?
There's no way to access the back of the building. It's located in a very crowded shopping street. But next time I'm there I'm going to explore a little more.
Are there gates and stuff in the way?
An unlocked door is an open door.
I want a crowbar.
We need maps and schematics.
