A friend of mine just put me onto a DS game called Game Centre CX, which is a rather special-sounding Famicom compilation.
You're a kid in his room with a pal. You have a Famicom. The bottom screen is you two playing and the top is the game. Your mate chips in with comments when you die, miss a power up etc. Completing challenges in the games unlocks a new game. Each game has an original instruction manual, a corresponding magazine/strategy guide with play tips, interviews, top scores etc.
They have it for sale over at Play Asia: http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-9g-49-en-15-game+center+cx-70-271y.html
There are a few screens there and it looks so good I've ordered a copy for myself. I don't even know what games are on it yet!
Sorry if this should go in the 'other gaming' forum, I thought it was worth putting here since it's Famicom related.
It's a really nice game.
There was a little discussion in this thread about it:

Most of the games in there are very addictive. I didn't like the racing games that much, but that's perhaps just me. :)
i hated the racing games, but i loved star prince and huggleman 3 (i even beat the game!).
So this Game Centre CX is a TV show in Japan then? If it's anything like the game I'm guessing it's like Mystery Science Theatre 3000, and probably awesome if you can understand it. I hear there's also a museum in Japan based on it / this game where you can buy reproductions of some of the magazines featured in the game.
I didn't know about the museum, but the TV show is good.

That game is great! So is the show. I actually got to meet the host of the show at TGS last year.
