Title: Vintage Videogame shops in New York
Post by: keiffer01 on June 21, 2008, 07:12:59 pm
So I'm going to New York in the next month, and I really want to find good shops that sell retro videogames. Do you guys know any shops of this kind in New York city and could you please give the address to the store? All i'll need to do is type the address in my father's GPS and then find it. :)

I don't know the address, but my friend "claims" there is an import game store somewhere in chinatown.  I might be heading down to chinatown sometime this summer so I'll tell you if I see it.

Your friend is thinking of J&L (http://www.jnlgame.com/).

Sure. If you're old enough to drink, you should hit the Barcade (http://www.barcadebrooklyn.com/) in Brooklyn, too. Lots of nice, old arcade machines, and a lot of beer.

So I went to the store Videogames New York like jennatar suggested, and I was BLOWN OUT by how much stock and games they have! They virtually have EVERY single game console over there! And the prices aren't that bad either, well maybe for the exception of famicom games which almost cost like 30-45$ each. So in the end I bought the following things for the following prices;

Tropical Fish G&W - 79.99 US
Spitball Sparky G&W - 69.99 US
PSP Chotto Shot (with camera) - 64.99 US

So yeah what I bought was pretty expensive, but you know when your on vacation you can let yourself go a bit. And besides it wasn't my money it was my parents. ;D LOL
