Title: Gradius
Post by: satoshi_matrix on July 06, 2008, 06:34:19 pm
I'm currently writing up my review for Gradius, but I'm unsure what the storyline is. If someone has the manuel or box or something, could I get a transcript of the storyline please? Obviously, Gradius is a "shoot everything that moves" game, but I'd still like to add in the story if there is one. Thanks.

Maybe there is no storyline.
I've done a quick search (in Japanese) on google and couldn't find anything like a storyline behind Gradius. :-\

There's a storyline, but a very bare-bones one. Bacterion (the evil guys) attack the planet of Gradius. Gradius sends its best fighter craft, the Vic Viper, to fight against the alien invasion That's pretty much it.

For slightly more in-depth/alternative storylines you could look up the Salamander anime. And then there's this post over at Gradius Homeworld's forums (http://www.gamestone.co.uk/gradius/forumvb/showthread.php?t=1963).

here it comes you bunch of nerds 8)
it is from the booklet of the msx game, but thats the same.

The planet nemesis, a peaceful earth-like world, is now under an all-out space attack from its old enemies, beings from the sub-space star cluster of Bacterion.
The people of nemesis are in danger of being completely destroyed by the amoeboid Bacterions.
To save them, you have just launched the prototype hyper-space fighter, the Warp Rattler. (edit: strangely not called vic viper yet)
The entire galaxy awaits your duel to the death with the evil bacterions.
Your objective is the Bacterion superfortress, Xaerous. To reach this, you must steal the enemy power capsules along your route and boost the Warp Rattler's hyper-powers.
You are the last hope for the gentle people of Nemesis! You will need all your courage and concentration to win. Get ready to blast off!
