Title: Pirate coding
Post by: Lorfarius on November 07, 2008, 05:47:34 am
Just came across this:

Seems (to me) to be an interesting remake of DKC for the SNES. Dodgy piracy aside I'm actually interested in how they went about it. Would they have started coding it in assembley or even ripped huge chunks of SNES code and ported it back? Not a clue but would like to know more.

here's what seems to be a horrible SFC to Famicom port...

the graphics seem ok, but the story line seems abysmal...

"Hummer Team" - remember that name the next time you shop for pirates. ;) :P

A few months ago (it might have been last year to be honest) I heard mention of a pirate version for the Famicom of Final Fantasy VII. Recollection is a bit vague but I seem to recall it receiving some praise. Has anyone seen it?

Edit. Discovered this:

Not sure why the guy is ripping into it so much, its a pirate game afterall and actually seems quite well put together.

There's a lot on the web about it. That link above mentions it.
