Title: Fat Cat in the Space Ship of Shame
Post by: vgthing on November 25, 2008, 02:55:22 pm
Anyone heard of it? what is it about? Any Screenshots?
I found out about this game, but can't find any info on it.
From what I can guess, it involves fat cats and shameful space ships. Am I wrong?
:P

You might have better luck searching for ''89 Dennou Kyuusei Uranai".

The box art has a cat in a spaceship, but it's really just a fortune telling "game".

Is this the same game just for the NES?

Sounds like an alternate title of some sort.  It's in our database:

but I don't know who added it.

That alternate name comes from NES Player. They've got the AKA on their site. Don't know why. Check out the article about it; lists several unusual Famicom games with screenshots. I have a CIB copy of this game -- the only CIB cart I've got, don't know why I bought it -- but I've never been able to navigate passed the menu screens to see anything, so maybe there's nothing but menu screens (and somewhere along the way, fortunes).

You mean this?

http://www.nesplayer.com/features/famicom/index.htm (http://www.nesplayer.com/features/famicom/index.htm)

They're not calling the game "Fat Cat in the Space Ship of Shame", they're just giving a name to the icon (which appears to be from '89 yada yada).  The icon is there as a sort of rating system.  If we're calling it Fat Cat, then we have to have "Pac-Man Pimp" in the database somewhere, too.

Beats me, man. It's one of those "that's just the way it's always been" sort of things, since FW's inception really. I kinda like the AKA, regardless of how mistaken we were when including it in the database, back when we were young and innocent, and so naïve.

We should put [sic] beside it when the site is updated.  :P
