Oh baby I've been waiting for this for a long time. Now we don't have to search all over eBay for Game and Watch Collection.

oh ok :P
Ahh! It works now! Move move move!!
could someone care to explain what Club Nintendo is and why I should care? lol I've never heard of it.
Points are gained by purchasing games and registering them with Nintendo. You can then use those points to get awesome prizes such as playing cards, controllers, games, etc.. The Prizes that they have given away in Japan recently are really cool! The coolest being the Game & Watch collection for the Nintendo DS (now available to everyone else :)). Another cool item exclusive to Club Nintendo was the SuperFamicom classic controller for the wii virtual console; it doesn't get much cooler than that!
Yesssss I just registered! Hope good tidings come out of it!
I REALLY hope the points system (coins) are retroactive, all my Wii and Virtual Console games are already registered.
I registered too but only a few of my games have the pin code thing....that kind of sucks does that mean I have to buy games released by nintendo to get coins?
If it's anything like the old My Nintendo system, only first party (games made by Nintendo) will be eligible.
In Japan ALL games and hardware have point cards.
in Europe only games published by Nintendo earn you points.
I sent them a politely-disgruntled letter about their system not allowing me to get any points for my games that have already been registered. It would be a shame to stiff all of their loyal customers that have been registering their games for years and years. The kind of people that would redeem these points are their hardcore base... and I would imagine that Nintendo's hardcore base is...
... those crafty bastards. Cleverly played, Nintendo... cleverly played.
Well it looked too good to be true but still I'll keep my account and maybe someday gather enough coins to get something nice from their site.
My email was already signed up somehow, so I changed the password, but there is no "Forgot Username" thing, so I can't use it. Damn. :P

You can login using your email address/password, no username required. That's what I just did. After I was logged in, I was greeted with my username!
edit:
Why is the club Nintendo site soooo slow? >:(
Too many people joining maybe??? awaaaaaaa!
For anyone who cares, I got a response from Nintendo just now...
Quote from: Nintendo of AmericaHello Pat,
We have heard from a few who, like you, have been long-time participants in the previous registration program with concerns about Club Nintendo registration program. Your having registered as much product as you have is impressive, to say the least. I will be sure to forward your feedback regarding Club Nintendo registration for further review.
I'm sure you already know this, but the coins are earned for the completion of surveys and not for the registration of the game itself. More importantly, surveys are not needed for games which no longer ship to retailers and are therefore not eligible for coins.
Of course, I can understand how that might be frustrating when you have registered a great number of older games, and I do empathize. It is for this reason that a variety of games released prior to December 2008 which are still shipping to retailers also qualify for surveys and coins. You can find a complete list of these qualifying older games at our Club Nintendo FAQ. I've put a direct link to the FAQ below:
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/club/en/faq.jsp#register_all
If you have already registered any of the games featured on these lists, I encourage you to complete their accompanying surveys (check your to-do list) right away to get the coins.
Sincerely,
T. J. Geise

Geese!?!?!!!
lol, there is your problem; Nintendo is now being run by SouthTown's crime boss. It truly is a crime that we cannot get coins for all of those games that we bought. I tried to register a bunch of games for my DS with no luck. Oh well, at least I have the JDM Game&Watch DS. Thanks for sharing that letter Pat, it has really cleared things up. The frustration, however, is still there.
Maybe I'm dumb, but I'm not sure I understand this completely.
To register your stuff, you enter in the barcode found on the back of the games? If so, I have a quick checklist of things I want to know if I can register for and get points. If anyone can just let me in bullet form if these are ok or not, that would be great in helping me decide if I should bother with this at all.
can you get points for registering:
GBA games?
GBA SP system?
DS (fat) system?
DS Lite system?
DS Headset?
Launch 06' Wii?
Gamecube games?
DS games?
Wii game?
What about older stuff (N64 and older) or import games? For instance, Japanese DS games?
Thanks for anyone who can help.
You can only get coins for newer NDS and Wii titles. The code needed for entry is NOT the barcode, but a code on a pamphlet or card included next to the manual. This paper may have been thrown away as NintendoPower spam in the past ( some of my official Nintendo games seem to be missing them.) However, not all games came with these ( I think only official Nintendo releases did ?) AND you may not get coins for all games that did come with these. Thanks to Pat and his letter, we now know all of this. Also, you only get coins when you fill out a survey related to the game in question. Coins are not given just for the fact that you are a loyal customer shelling out your paycheck to Nintendo Corporation ( I once spent a whole paycheck on Nintendo games!)
All of this leads me to a question of my own. Is this how the Club Nintendo of Japan is operated? Is the USA once again getting stiffed? If there are any Japanese Club Nintendo members posting here, can you tell us how it is operated in Japan?

ATTENTION! Your WiiWare and Virtual Console games that were purchased BEFORE Club Nintendo became available to you will NOT appear in your list. You must contact Nintendo if you wish to get coins for these games!
How do you do that? I mean how do you prove you downloaded the games?
I would imagine that they will ask you for your Wii's serial number and from there be able to see everything you have.

Wait, seriously? In Japan every single game, even those not published by Nintendo, give you Club Nintendo points?
Yes, sir.
All games have point cards and you get points for registering. If you register within 4 weeks after release you get bonus points. Select titles published by Nintendo you can, well, "preregister" on the Club site, which also earns you a few extra points when registering the game itsself (within 2 weeks from release date) afterwards. AND!! after that you can fill out a short questionnaire with your thoughts about the game and earn some points, too.
Point cards are valid up to 2 years after release. After you registered the game and earned the points those points in your balance are valid for 2 years.
These are cumulative points.
All points you get from October 1st to September 30th count for your "status". Gold status is reached with 200 points. Gold members get a little present around new year. Over 400 points is Platinum status. Platinum members get a much better present for their loyalty. No points are deducted for these presents. But after Sepember 30th. your status points go back to 0. They are still in your normal balance of course.
For your points you can always buy items from the shop.
... what more can I say?
If you have any questions, just ask. :)
I have a question :P
How do I find my username?
Somehow my address and email are all signed up, and I have done the Forgot Password thing like 8 times, I tried all of the usernames I've used that I can remember, and I didn't get anywhere with that :(
Huzzah! My "free" Game & Watch Collection is on its way! It looks absolutely delicious.
How do I register my Channels that I bought on the Wii Shop Channel? ???
I have 460 coins just from the games I bought a long time ago (or, that is, at least the Nintendo Power spam I didn't throw out) and I am saving up for the following things--
Game and Watch Collection - 800 Coins
Mario Hanafuda Cards - 800 Coins
Super Mario Bros. Themed Stylus Set - 600 Coins
Mario Hat Nintendo DS Game Rack - 600 Coins
TOTAL: 2,800 Coins
- 460 Coins
2,340 Coins -- Got a ways to go
But yeah, how do I register the Channels?
I just got another email from Nintendo concerning which things can be registered. What they were saying is that apparently the kinks should be worked out. Everything that is elligible will be on your list. I guess if it isn't you should send them an email but the guy I got sounded fairly sure. Here is the actual response:
Quote from: NintendoHello Pat,
I can appreciate your interest in Club Nintendo. Using the information you have provided in your email, I was able to locate your account and confirm that your Virtual Content has been successfully registered previously. You should see them included in your list of registered products.
If registered games are eligible for surveys, those surveys will appear in your To-do list. Complete the surveys to earn coins. Remember that only those games which were released in December 2008 and forward qualify for surveys. For a complete list of games which qualify, please visit the Club Nintendo FAQ.

Want to ask them how I recover my userame?
If I can't do that, I'll have to use my dad's workplace address :-\
I think I remember someone saying you can use the email that you registered your account with as the username.
That didn't work : ( I'll try again, though, I guess :P
So does this mean, as of right now, I can't register my Wii Channels? Because it said on site I could....Bummer
Looking back at that list I may have missed some of my DS games... gotta check that out.
Naw, the email thing doesn't work : (
I think I only have like three games with point card thingies in them? :P
I didn't register any of the games on that list (except for like...2 or 3) and I still have 460 Coins....Hardly any of the games I registered are on that list
Their site appears to be down at the moment.
*looks at the stack of DS games that is currently higher than my head*
:-[
How many coins do you have Pat?
Also, I have two different copies of the same game...since they have different serial numbers...does that mean I could register them twice?
Probably the same game can't be registered twice.
Only hardware like the DS or Wiimotes/Nunchucks can be registered more that one. Well, that's in Japan.
Just look up the homepage. There MUST be an explanation somewhere.
How much coins do you get for 1 game usually?
I see over there the G&W collection is 800 coins. In Japan it's 500 points, so probably you get more points per registered game.
For Wii games, you get 50 Coins but I got 80 Coins for Wii Fit because of the balance board...even though it was $90... >:(
For DS games, you get 30 points....
$1 = 1 Coin Apparently :P
And what the HELL is wrong with the American site?? Everytime I try and log in with my Firefox-remembered username and password...it says it's WRONG!! Any help?
What a buggy website. I activate my account and login. Things look good. I put in the code for Wii Play and then it tells me I need to login. I go to login and it tells me the account information is wrong. I go to reset my password and the recovery form returns an error. WTF Nintendo?
---
Working for me now. Only 250 points, though...

Had the same problem. Looks like a global glitch that hit a lot of people. What you have to do is use their password recovery system and then just enter a new password (or your old one) and things will start working again.

No you cannot register the same title twice, even if you have two different codes. Sorry.
I've got 830 coins, though at the moment I only have 30 to spend. :P
Yeah I figured out the same game thing...bummer....
as for the log in problem, I think the site is just buggy, because now it works.... ::)
Finally got it to work. with father's work address and email xD
And I now have 310 coins :D
I have 580 Coins
I just got 110 coins but I'm getting some ds games for christmas so maybe it'll go up if they come with serial number that is....awaaaaaaaaaa
I'm sure they do as long as they're official Nintendo games...and they were made in 2007-08
ah well son of a gun.....they are RPGs made by square enix hmm Chrono Trigger and Dragon Quest IV waaaaaaaa.....
Oh, I've got both of them! You're out of luck with Club Nintendo points but hey, the games themselves are fantastic!
Just ordered the Game and Watch Collection...I got about 300 coins from going to friends houses and asking them for the little slips behind the manual...
w00t!
Anyone else have any recommendations for 1st party Wii/DS games?
I'm getting Tetris DS and Animal Crossing: City Folk for Christmas (In addition to NWC 1990 Repro and a U.S Neo Fami!!) So that's 80 Coins right there...unless AC has more because of the Camera or whatever it is...I doubt it though.
Have you played Animal Crossing and Animal Crossing: Wild World? If so, you've played Animal Crossing: City Folk. If you like platformers get Wario Land: Shake It, it is phenomenal.
There's just something about AC that I like...so Ima still get it...
As for Wario Land: Shake It...it seems fun....and that demo that destroyed Youtube KICKED ASS
Sometime after Christmas, I'm also gonna get Kirby Superstar Ultra and We Ski (Because of it's balance board compat.)
Animal Crossing consumes so much time... which I don't have. :-\
And I hoped Nintendo would make a bit more out of the concept this time. Maybe I'll wait for the next installment on the next system.

How so?
Don't you think it's the same every time?
Not much has changed from the N64 version.
Son of a beach the club nintendo section is not working!
The Wii Shop Channel has been spotty too. Nintendo must have done some good business this Christmas.
Hey, just a quick update. I got my copy of the Game & Watch Collection earlier today.
Pat, I just realized I have more posts than you :P
I had a big pile of serial codes (Used) and on the top was an unregistered code for Wario Land: Shake It...but then I threw them all away because I forgot the Wario Land one was in there
Post count is meaningless. Go to the Gaming Steve forum for proof. ;)
Pat is right. Post count doesn't mean anything. It's all about quality and commitment.
Ah, those little whippersnappers... ::) :P

How is it?
About what I expected. It's a Game & Watch game... decently fun but hey, it's a novelty and the case looks cool and it's something that most people won't have.
BUMP
Club Nintendo has now started giving players the option to take Post-Gameplay surveys that are worth 10 coins per survey
I like it! Easy 10 coins for games you already have.
Cool now I'll have 800 coins in no time!
Yeah it's great but I'm sadly 600 coins away from that game and watch ds game.....I just keep buying RPGs instead of Nintendo made games.....bad for me but I love RPGs too much to let them go!!
Just 80 coins away from a Game & Watch Collection.
I'm 250 coins away, and neither IE or Firefox will let me take the surveys for Secret of Mana or Gradius II.
Welll....
Since they won't let you..
Send the codes to me :P
Now I just need only 50 more coins.
Anyone know how long it usually takes for the surveys of Vitrual Console Games to be put on to do list
I have games from Jan 5th and the 17th [tons of them ] and still haven't gotten the surveys yet.
I heard it takes 4-6 weeks. But I want to see what other people have seen or heard
Not all VC games are worth coins...
I think someone posted a list earlier in this thread..
if anyone wants to share some coins I'll be more than happy to receive them....har

You bastard! I see you are learning from popibros.....
Attention North American Club Nintendo members, if you didn't know already, Nintendo has revealed the prizes for Gold and Platinum memnbers...but they aren't nearly as good as Japan's. Straight from the email I got:
Hmm...I haven't gotten the email yet. I'll probably go for Doc Louis's Punch-Out.
That's what I got. Then, after I ordered that, I got an email from Nintendo saying that they'll send me a link that has the code to download the game....before November 1st. ::)
Edit* Just so everyone knows, you don't need the email, you can just log in on CN and order it. ;)
D'oh. I only have gold status. Guess I'm getting a calendar ;D
I may get the hat for display value, I'm not a big punch out fan.
What is Japan getting?
Shit! We get loads of shit in holland. ONLY SHIT! Some gba games. Some shit. Some more shit. I hate holland, they are the suckiest, shittiest, dumbest game country ever. FUCK THIS! This is it. Im gonna commit suicide and I get back in my next life as an american.
Awesome, great. You do that.
I don't have enough points to get anything. >:(
It's as good as Japan's prizes, so don't feel bad.
I actually have that Mario hat. I got it as last year's platinum status prize. It's quite neat.
Is that hat comfortable to wear or is it better to display it? I'm getting it since I can't get the calendar and I'm not a big punch out fan.
It's very soft, but I wouldn't want to wear it very long.
I'm sure it's better for display only.
It does look soft from the picture. I would probably not wear that in public but possibly as a night time hat in the winter to keep my head room... I just checked on the status to see what the order is doing and it's backordered. :( Oh well, they said by... November 1?! >:(
What is japan getting this year anyway? I heard they get sweet stuff.
I picked the hat. As much as I love Punch Out, I'd rather have something I can actually hold.
In Japan the CN year goes from October to September, so we don't know what we'll get this year. I hope for something nice of course. It's usually announced in October or November and delivered March.

None of the prizes get shipped/activated until then. It really sucks we have to wait so long. :-\
I wish we could have been offered like. A Super Nintendo classic controller for wii..
Oh well, I could sell the calendar >_>
Do I have to mention that I got the SFC classic controller last year? :P ;D
It's very sweet btw.
Jealous I am... does work on an "american" wii?
Yes of course.
Once again, Japan gets way cooler stuff than NA:
