quick question, does anyone know if the cart version of the original Zelda game uses the mic feature, like the FDS version does? Thanks!
Hmm not sure but I can give it a shot at it when I get home tonight and let you know
From what I remember, it doesn't. The Famicom cart version is exactly like the NES version in Japanese.
Is the music different between cart and disc for the famicom?

Pretty sure that there's no difference. I've played both versions and couldn't spot any differences.
You are right the music is not different and I tried the cart and the mic doesn't work....
The title screen music has to be different, though.
no, the music is different between the cart and disk versions.
the cart version has the same music as the US release.
So, if having a famicom cart of zelda is just like playing the nes version of zelda, then it isn't worth it if you already have an nes version of zelda, right?
Then I am definately for the disk system version. You get to scream into the microphone and kill enemies and the music is better.
Just thought I'd update, but the microphone DOES work. I got my cart Zelda in the mail last week and finally had a chance to go through the game this weekend and I was yelling into the mic all over level 5 and 8 killing those orange rabbits with ease.

That's cool that the mic does work, but is the music the same as the nes version? (mainly the title screen)

Oooohh, that's cool. But then again, I guess it should've been a given, since the Beat Takeshi series was also released in cartridge form, and the mic features worked then as well.
Rob: From when I last checked, I am pretty sure there is no musical difference.
So the music on the cart is not the same as the music on the disk? That's a bummer.
