Well, I got five new Famicom games in the mail, one of which is the Goonies 2! I beat the English version, and I will attempt to beat this version as well. There are some questions I wanted to ask about it as well.
1) Were there any differences in translation between the Japanese and English versions?
2)How do I get my password? I know in the English version you can press Select, but here I press that and I get some Japanese text, which I THOUGHT was my password but when I tried to enter it it didn't work.
You may also talk about the Goonies games here, both 1 and 2, as well.
I played both games and could never get into part 2. I love part one though....
Was never a fan of 2. Odd game with those awful 3d room bits.

Are you sure you copied it down correctly? Mixing similar-looking kana, an 8x8 font, and a complete lack of context is a recipe for transcription error.
What I mean is where exactly is it? In the English version, I know that you press select and then you see your password on the second row before pressing select again to return to the title screen. Is the password on the first or second row after pressing select? Or does it take up two rows?
Oooohhh, I love Goonies 2! Never played the Famicom version, though, so I cannot help you out there. Though I will say that the first Goonies is incredibly underrated, check out my review of it here:

I just booted it up in an emulator to see and it's the second line you need.
Here's a screenshot:

So it's the red highlighted bit there. The first line is just "Your password is".
