is this normal for sonic 1 cart because i haven't played sonic 1 for a long time and maybe i just don't remember but does the level line up go like this?

Sounds like you have the alternate level order for some reason. Did you use a cheat code to skip levels?
i used the level select...
but i also played thru some of it so yeah it has that weird line up

Are all Not For Resale carts supposed to do this? My copy of Sonic 1 is labeled Not For Resale and it has the right order...
OH yeah that's right if I remember correctly my not for resale does that as well.
Yeah I suggest you keep it since it's very odd of the level line up.

No I've had at least 3 not for resale carts over the years and they were all normal.
