This game is damn hard!!! Help me beat 1-4!!!! wekkekekekekekeke awaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
doode, the fds version is the only way to go. It's easier too! Anyways, there is a sweet ass guide I'll provide in the link below. I used it recently as I recently beat the fds version.

If you are using the nes version and just want some sweet passwords, the following link will jump you to the password section of the above guide!

Thanks!
How is the FDS version easier if it doesn't have any sweet awesome passwords?
Maybe you can save your game due to the battery?
Well, you can save your game due to it being a writable media. No battery needed. That's certainly a plus, since you don't need to put in a password. Downside is, you can't cheat or use password hacks. I'd really rather have the ease of the save files though.
oh that's right it's writable
I must be the only peson that doesn't like this game. But maybe I'm not smart enough to play it. Took me awhile to even figure out you could go off one side of the screen and appear on the other side of it. what kinda sense does THAT make? There's no indication that you're in a tower and can travel in a circle! Besides that the controlsl just feel super-stiff and not responsive enough.
I know, this isn't a topic about how much you like or don't like the game. XD
The whole other side of the screen thing is pretty much just Pac-Man physics (That's what my Social Studies/Homeroom teacher calls it)
Video games don't have to make sense, if they did, we wouldn't have such great games as Pac-Man ( A yellow dot in a dark maze with colorful ghosts chasing him)
Super Mario Bros (A plumber who somehow all of a sudden becomes the hero of the day and has to rescue a random princess from a random giant turtle that no one knew about until this happened :P)
It's how much sense you can't make out of a video game that makes it great :D
Also, one more thing...
Katamari ;D
Let me fix the topic!

But in Pac-Man, he clearly goes through some sort of warp hallway, it isn't like the entire screen on the left and right side are open to him and he can just barge right thru. You're right tho, there are other games like this, so I'm not sure why it took me so long to figure it out. But it did.
I'm not a big fan of Kid Icarus, either. I find it and Metroid frustrating. I did, however, beat them both back in the day. I haven't been able to play either of them for more than about 15 minutes since.
I like the game a LOT more now than I did years ago, but I hear ya when you say it's so hard. This and Metroid both felt the same to me: like I was moving in a giant circle. However, it's much easier now, and one of the few times where I can appreciate a game more as I turn older.
I find Kid Icarus more merciful than Metroid, with all them look-alike rooms & all. :-\
I actually appreciate Metroid a lot more than Kid Icarus, partly b/c it seems a lot more polished to me. The controls also don't feel so stiff. I actually don't like a lot of the Nintendo arcade style games (like the original Mario Bros game). Blasphemy, I know.
I'm much bigger on Metroid than Kid Icarus. I've beat Metroid several times, on several platforms (NES, VC, FDS). Kid Icarus I haven't gotten past the second level. There are things I just either don't get, or don't feel like dealing with. For example, if you do crappy on a level it affects your growth. If you don't get properly stronger, you'll suck on the later levels. So it's like you're permanently screwed if you don't rock the earlier levels. Also, items are way too expensive, and I can't get the microphone trick to work.
I'm not so fond of both.
Metroid is better on the Super Famicom.
Kid Icarus never sparked my interest that much. Only tried it 2-3 times.
Got both today in the mail, they're both fun and challenging. I like Kid Icarus more than Metroid, but they're both awesome games
Man still stuck on 1-4....will keep trying.

I heavily agree. In fact, it's one of the best SNES games... ever! Atleast I think so.
