hello, I would like to buy a stack up cart that contains a 60 to 72 pin adapter inside. Does anybody have one?
Why do you want the cart? What would you do with it afterwards? :D
I personally would go after a cheaper game like Gyromite or Hogan's Alley, since Stack-Up is so hard to find.
Yeah get Gyromite, no need to cannibalize an rare Stack-Up cart when you can find a common, dirt cheap Gyromite.
Is Stack-Up really that rare? *head explodes*
It's not really rare, but it generally sells on ebay for over $20.
Oh, well I should buy out the pawn shop then :D Because they have like 3 more and like 6 Gyromite carts...and quite a few of those blue bible game carts for 50 cents a pop
Yeah you should buy them out. I wish I could find a store around here that had stuff like that.
Trust me, you don't. I'd love to get an actual gaming shop in this town..the pawn shop here is ran by not-so-great people, and they don't always obey store hours. And most of the time, they get all of their prices off of high listings on eBay.
Wow, they must have checked that one wrong.
Every single Stack-Up cart has a converter in it. I would buy them all if I were you. Those Bible Adventures are good at $0.50 too.
Well, they probably just typed in NES cart, and looked at a random price.
ah I saw an stack up cart today....should have picked it up. awaaaaaaaaaa!
LOL what reason did you have not to?
Could you get me a blue bible adventures game, i have always wanted one; nintendodork?

A store around here is like that, its owned by a Hindu woman and she charges tons for games. Nobody ever shops there, but plenty sell there.
I don't want to buy a gyromite or hogans alley cart, because i don't want to go through the trouble of opening up and destroying a bunch of carts, only to relise i haven't found a single converter.
Also, i am only going to need 1 converter so i cans make a converter cart to play all my famicom games on my nstc nes. Also, nintendodork can you sell me one of those blue bible adventures carts?

Well the guy who had the game was charging other people a lot of money for lame games so I figured he would charge me a lot for the stack up. Since it's worth at least 20 bucks it would have been worth it.

There's no need to destroy anything. The early NES games use standard flathead screws.
if that's the case, i could try my father's hogan's alley cart, Thanks for the info.

I have yet to find a Gyromite or Hogan's Alley (Wrecking Crew, etc.) with a converter in it. My Stack Up does have one, but I haven't bothered trying it yet as I already owned a famicom and famicom disk beforehand (found the Stack Up for $10 a month or so ago).
I would think just getting a real famicom would be more interesting, and I would expect the NES to have problems playing many of the more advanced Famicom games (once my Akumajou Densetsu (Castlevania III) cart gets here I plan on finally trying out the converter so I can do an A/B test of what will happen with the VRC6 chip, etc.). Though I'm sure the answer to that must already be known.
i won't buy a famicom because i won't buy a nes to fc adapter to play my nes carts on it and i already have a nes i also do not have much money anyways. Also how does the 3 or 5 pin thing work, ya' know the system that you use to tell if a nes cart contains a converter?

All the info you need.
I still don't understand what it means by pins.

If you already have the NES, there would be no need to buy a 72-60 pin converter to bother playing them on the FC (the NES to FC converter I have doesn't even work). I was saying that an NES with a converter would not be able to play all Famicom games to their full potential, which may leave you disappointed. Also, games like Zelda are interesting to rediscover with the use of the microphone that you can't do on an NES.
I'd much rather save up for a Famicom then use a converter. I didn't think it'd be that much better than a NES, but it is....by a long shot.
Playing FC games on a NES is fine, I did it for months.
But a Famicom is better, right? :D
Eh, the original Famicom kind of sucks imo. I have to sit basically with the console on my lap to play it. The Famicom is cool for the extra sound channels and FDS, but the NES 2 is better imo. Now if we're talking about the AV Famicom or Twin Famicom, that's a different story.
Get a wireless controller :D But yeah, Twins are awesome. Especially the green/black ones.

My Famicom is a Twin AN-505-BK (got it with the box too). I'm guessing it (mostly black with a green bar, power button, and numbers on the controllers) must be the green/black one you are referring to. I've never played an original one.
Nevermind i found a cart, should i lock or delete this thread?
Which cart did you find it in?
well im bidding on a cheap stack up cart on ebay. i may not win it.
No need to delete or lock it if you win the auction. It'll fade away eventually on its own.
I just took out my Stack Up converter (modified it to accept Famicom cartridges [removed the tabs and ground the sides down a little), and tested Castelvania 3 (Akumajou Densetsu) in my NES (using a Game Genie as an extension) and the comparison is not even remotely close--the NES cannot at all produce the audio that is on an advanced audio game like CV3. Guess I'll need to buy another Stack Up for my collection now :P (the tabs were what screwed the chipboards in place).
Solder pin 45 from the Famicom side to NES pin 18 on your StackUp converter with a 100k resistor and 1 uF capacitor.
Then open up your NES and solder pin 3 and pin 40 together on the never used expansion slot
and there you go, extended sound on your NES!
Very interesting. I may even try it, though I'm plenty happy with using famicom games on the famicom and NES games on the NES. Though compared to a Twin, the NES still has no microphone or way to play Famicom disk games, which has quite a few key famicom games IMO.
