Who wants this in America?
I do.
QuoteThere is currently no announcement for a western release.
:'(
I have the Japanese version but I would love to see an American localization.
It sounds like it would be more difficult to localize than the first one. The adventure game probably has more text than Gaudia Quest does. Also, how would they localize the FDS? There was never a popular analogue to it outside of Japan.
Assuming Retro Game Challenge yields Xseed enough money, though, I don't see why they wouldn't bring over the second one as well.

They actually have references to the FDS in WarioWare games...so it wouldn't surprise me...
And if that doesn't work, they can just stick three question marks over it like in SMRPG :P

That's true. WarioWare had the player-two microphone as well. Maybe it's not that big of a deal.
If they really needed to, they could change it from the FDS to a cartridge or a PC game. Also, text adventure games have been translated before, so why not now?
If part 1 brings them enough revenue, they will definitely translate part 2, too.
I sure hope so...
In that case, spread the word! Write good reviews! Buy it instead of pirating it! Anything to convince indies 0!
I wonder how many other games Xseed made. I noticed that they also made a synthesizer for the DS. Called the Korg DS-10, it's all on-screen, but I've seen videos of people who take straws and make talkboxes for it. It's pretty cool.
I've got the DS-10... well, the rom. It's awesome.

Oh yeah, I tried that, it's sweet. ;D

I can sort of figure out how to use it, but I can't really make any decent music with it.

Summary: Until more people buy Retro Game Challenge, we'll probably never see a localization of CX 2.

You know what that means; spread the word! Tell your friends! Make fan ads! Anything to bring in more money for Xseed!

I wonder how I can get the word out to an extent where it would benefit XSEED. I'll see what I can do.
Tell your friends!
Gentlemen, I think we have another MOTHER 3 on our hands. Retro Game Challenge doesn't seem to be selling so well in the US. Kudos to whoever understands the analogy.

Actually, I disagree...
Let's see those Retro Game Challenge sales figures then!
I heard that too (from their developer blog), unless there are more sales of RGC then it's not a viable business option for them. Localisation for these is heavy.
I heard Mother 3 didn't get localised for legal reasons though, but I think there's a fan translation of it around if you have a flashcart or don't mind an emulator.
I know about the patch, I was watching the site during the final days of development.
Anyway, tell your friends! I say we start a site-wide project!
No.
To raise your spirits, I was watching a video JewWario (A member here) posted on Youtube awhile back. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_SIK0bftMM

Hi Justin,
Sorry it took a while to get back to you, but looks like you were able to grab the footage OK as the Retro Game Challenge review you posted looks great.
Appreciate your support, and we'll see what we can do about getting the sequel over here, though there's tons of other factors involved to make it happen.

Spirits; raised. Hope; raised. Patience; down like the American economy.
I didn't really like the first one :\
Why not?
EDIT: Oh, shit, 666 posts.
I just did not have fun with it.
I enjoyed it up 'til the final challenge. I just don't have the motivation to play through all the games.
Absolutely.
The last challenge put me off, too.
Inside the game there were one or two titles I didn't really care about, and beating those all the way isn't very funny then.
The last challenge is less of a pain if you use the secret Guadia Quest ending. It counts.
QuoteXSEED has stated that US release of the game is extremely unlikely, due to lackluster sales of the original.
BAWWWWWWWWW
It wasn't sold in many stores, so this doesn't surprise me.
This proves it. Nobody likes retro gaming anymore. People are too busy with their fancy Xbox or their 3D graphics or their online play. We here at Famicom World are part of the last of a generation of 8-bit gamers. (And in some cases, the part of the only of this generation.)
