Super Mario Bros., as of March 2009, is no longer the best-selling video game of all time. It is now second place.
The new best-selling game of all time is...
This.

Your thoughts?
It's only best-selling because it comes with the Wii ::)
They shouldn't be able to count that game, since it's only a package deal.
I cant believe it....:(
and dork is right it shouldn't count
Meh, I think the Wii is garbage. And I'm still waiting for something good to come out for the PS3 I bought a ways back in anticipation for games like GOW3...
It's not a pack in over in Japan (hence the discrepency between global Wii sales and global Wii Sports sales); and besides, you can't say that Super Mario Bros. would have sold so well had it not also been packed in with the NES.
360 supporter eh? I am too, except that I've experienced tons of problems from the RROD to the dvd drive failing to the system now just randomly freezing. But I am a M$ fan enough to warrant buying a new one to replace my faulty 2006 model. Here's hoping that's a wise move.
ERROR//SYNTAX
Because SMB is no longer number 1, the whole world has just fallen apart.
It must be falling apart atom by atom, then.
Rather old news. Although the only reason Super Mario Bros was the best selling game of all time was because it was packaged with the NES =P
So it seems rather fitting if you ask me.
WiiFitting?
*rimshot*
Super Mario Bros. was also a pack-in title. I got it with my NES.
mario 3 was officially the best selling individually anyway, only eclipsed by pokemon red + blue sales combined.
Pack ins shouldn't count really, they don't in terms of 'individual' sales.
Eh, pack-ins should only not count if the pack-in in question is from a company other than Nintendo. ;)
Pack-ins should count, no matter what. A sold game is a sold game.
In other new, Nintendo is rolling in cash... ::)

Pretty much. The DS is pretty awesome.
I don't think bundles count in sales terms even now in today's numbers - I'll have a dig and check, it'd be worth knowing for definite.
I think because sales numbers are effectively mainly for retail's benefit, they don't count the bundle skus, because those sales don't count as the same thing when they have to buy more in of a certain game etc.
That picture Jedi posted isn't 100% true anymore :P
I don't get it.
There isn't a bottom slot on the DSi.
That's not a DS, it's a Game & Watch. Didn't any of you watch the documentary?
I know what a G&W is, I have two...I guess I should have figured it was a G&W because of the people with only two frames, and the fact that the console only has one button :P
I stole it from this video:

Which was posted on these forums somewhere, sometime. :-\

Did you win the lottery or something?
They aren't all expensive.
Really? I thought that they were, because in Game Center CX, they have a segment in which Arino plays a few G&W games, and then gets shocked at the price.
The only ones that are expensive are boxed ones and the see-through ones..I forgot what they're called. I got a loose DK for $35 and a boxed DK Hockey for $45
I have a Super Mario Bros. G&W that I only paid around twenty dollars for, and that was eBay so I probably paid too much.
If you find one in the real world, it won't be that expensive. A friend of mine found Parachute at a garage sale for five bucks a little while ago.
Most of the G&Ws I see on eBay now are waaayy overpriced. The cool thing about them is that you can get them really cheap at garage sales because the previous owner thinks it's just one of those lame LCD games you get at Walmart for $.50 or in a kid's meal. :P
Wow, Protoman. Judging from your change in avatar, you jump to every new fad that seems popular at the time.

He's 14. I have a nephew who's the exact same age and does the same thing. :P
Yo dawg...
Was that pointless, or are you his nephew?
Nothing I say is pointless! The discussion was about fads; therefore, I alluded to a fad. Nobody caught it though... occupational hazard. Gotta strike out every now and again.
lol.
My cousin does the whole fad thing too....:P
super Mario Bros. is replaced by WiiSports? You have got to be shitting me?!? A shitty game like that? is this for real?
Yeah, pretty much.
I quite like Wii Sports.
Indeed, bowling is a lot of fun and tennis is the only game (aside from Goldeneye... strangely enough) that I can get my Dad to play.
This is kind of symbolic of the way gaming is becoming more modern, leaving the style of classic games behind... I guess.

Or maybe because more people can play it.
