Title: Adventure Island multicart
Post by: nintendodork on June 09, 2009, 01:54:22 pm
Anyone know if these exist?  I really like AI, and I'd like to get one if they're out there.

I've never seen a multi with all four games. I see tons of single game carts.

I remember I have once seen a multi that contains Adventure Island 2,3 and 4

I'd like to find the first 3 on one cart.  I like the fourth one the least, because it's so different from the first 3.

It's gotta exist somewhere.  I mean, come on, it's Famicom piracy.  Anything can happen.

There is an official Hudson GBA game that has the compilation of all 4.

I forgot about that, but I wouldn't recommend it - the graphics are nasty.

When Nintendo did their GBA ports, they actually edited the games to squeeze them onto the smaller GBA pixel resolution, but Hudson didn't do that, so you get blurred sprites and other glitches where they've squeezed 140 pixels down to 130 (or whatever it actually is).

Does the powerpack play all 4? I thought 4 was a rather odd mapper. But, it's been a while since I looked at it.

Nope, Adventure Island IV is mapper 4, which works just fine.

yeah, it's not, well..  Not all that in my opinion.  Kinda plays like an adventure island RPG, just feels odd.

Yeah, Adventure Island was meant to be a side-scrolling platformer...not...this..

I'm glad Hudson realized their error before they made Adventure Island: The Beginning :D

I have to say that I thought 4 was the only nes one I liked... The other 3 were too repetitive for me. I also liked super adventure island 2 but not 1, which isn't really a surprise since they came out in this order: Adventure island 3, Super Adventure Island, Adventure Island 4, Super Adventure Island 2. But I would agree that Super Adventure Island 2 is much better than Adventure Island 4.

What would stop them?  I've seen carts with more than 4 unique games on it.

If only I weren't too lazy to find all 4, stack them on a nes cart, and take a picture...
