Post by: cosmic-ark on June 23, 2009, 01:32:31 am
I just got a copy of castlevania chronicles the other day it's a very interesting remake of the famicom games it starts off with the first level of castlevania but with a few differences and then it changes into totally new levels it's even got a new item a" herb " every time you use it it replenishes your life there is also a booby trap in one wall where in the famicom version you could get food if you knocked out a couple of bricks in this version a swarm of those little hunchback jumping things come at you i keep forgetting not to hit the bricks. anyway if you like castlevania for the famicom/nes you will like this game for the playstation.

Castlevania Chronicles is actually an emulation and remake (there's two versions on there) of Akumajou Dracula for the Sony X68000.  That game is sort of a remake of the original Castlevania, but it is vastly different in many ways.  Definitely a cool game for the PSX, though.
