Sucks because I really wanted to see the dude perform. Wasn't he having like 10 shows in England in July or did that happen this month?

EDIT:

I think it was in July.  The website says he had a show to be rescheduled for July 13th, so I guess I can't say for sure if it was supposed to be carried over.  Either way, it''s not happening now. :-\

And I totally thought of that scene as soon as I heard the news.  It just fit so well. :D

Oh, and I watched the AVGN's review of Micheal Jackson's Moonwalker on the Genesis, literally like, 10 minutes before he was pronounced dead. :o

Edit* From Wikipedia:
QuoteFrom July 13, 2009 to March 6, 2010, Jackson is was scheduled to perform 50 sell out concerts to over one million people, at London's O2 arena. According to Jackson's website, tickets sales for the concerts broke several records. During a prior press conference, Jackson made suggestions of possible retirement.  Randy Phillips, president and chief executive of AEG Live stated that the first 10 dates alone would earn the singer approximately £50 million.

Edit 2* Farrah Fawcett also died today.

So, no new album then after all.

It's a shame, I really like his music (from the 80s and early 90s).

I bet unreleased tracks are yet to come.

They die in sets of three, they say: Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson.

edit: also, TMZ is a tabloid site, so I wouldn't trust their articles (although they were right in this case)

Yeah, I heard it, so I Googled it, and that was the first thing that came up, so I went with it.  I don't usually use TMZ for a news feed. ;)

His music is incredible and never really sounds dated and I remember it constantly being on the radio throughout my childhood. Too bad all the flamers are now posting about his past indiscretions and troubles. It's not like we all haven't heard it before. And, no, you're NOT being original, just a disrespectful little bitch by writing things like that.

I was really looking forward to a new album, but maybe we'll get some unreleased tracks.

The King (of Pop) is dead! Long live the King (of Pop)!

It's a shame, 50 is too young. Been listening to Thriller and playing Moonwalker in tribute.

It's a shame he went so young. My dad is almost the same age as him... kinda scary.

I'm thinking about one day getting a genesis and moonwalker so I have other ways to remember him by. I already have the AVGN video and some of his best songs.

He'll be missed.

Moonwalker is a fun game.  My friend has a Genesis, and he's thinking about selling it, and all of the games, one of which is Moonwalker.

I think it's funny how you can make the animals dance. :P

Thriller was my favorite....

Wasn't he the youngest of the Jacksons ?

He will be missed.

Moonwalker has been on my list of Genesis games to play.

I didn't expect it to be a posthumous thing though. :(

Part of me feels somewhat disgusted that they will jump on a tragedy like that just so they can turn a profit...Although I suppose this happens with a bunch of tragedies.

sigh.

But anyway, MJ will be moonwalking up to heaven. RIP

Has 'Moonwalker' game always been worth money, or is it just a sudden jump in price?

I'm sure it's gone up, but it was always worth a fair amount because of the novelty.

But this is just ridonkulous.

Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett, in their own different ways, helped young boys masturbate for years!

26th June 2009, the morning Neil Armstrong was able to wake up once again the world's favourite moonwalker.

What's got 8 legs and doesn't rape children?

The Jackson 4.

Many people have been performing Michael Jackson tribute acts due to his tragic death, so I broke into the neighbours house and fucked their kids.

Yesterday I drank 9 cokes and 2 Dr Peppers, I am offically the new king of pop.

Michael Jackson kindly agreed to be an organ donor just days before his death...Up for grabs are 3 noses,14 pairs of lips and 2 shades of skin.

Two paramedics arrive at Michael Jackson's bout the call. The first paramedic says to the second "what should we try first?" The other replies with "I'd go with the ferris wheel."

Farrah Fawcett dies of cancer and goes to haven. God says "I will grant you one wish." She wishes all of the children on earth to be safe. Michael Jackson dies.

MJ died at 2:10. When the big hand touches the little hand.

C P R is apparently not as easy as 1 2 3.

MJ actually died from choking on a small bone.

You've been hit by, you've been struck by, your left ventricle.

Newspaper headlines from Friday, June 26th 2009

The Guardian; 'Singer Michael Jackson, 50, Dies Following Cardiac Arrest'

The Independent; 'Motown Legend Jackson Succumbs To Myocardial Infarction, Aged 50'

The Daily Star; 'WACKO JACKO HEART ATTACKO!'

For Sale:

Single white glove. Slightly soiled index finger.

Gary Glitter has won the auction for Michael Jackson's PC.

R.I.P. MJ... you touched a generation....

This recession is really hitting everyone hard.
Even the Jackson Five have had to lay one member off.

You know that Michael really is dead, when your 5-year-old son wakes you up at night claiming that he just got 'touched by an angel'.

What's black and white and is now dead?

The penguin I stabbed last night.

What's black and white and dead? Newcastle United.

Speaking of which - when did everyone here first get into Jackson's music? If at all?

For me, it was after I heard Alien Ant Farm's cover of Smooth Criminal.

I just had to hear the original - like them both. (http://www.famicomworld.com/forum/Themes/famicomworld/images/post/thumbup.gif)

Beat It is the only song I have by him on iTunes, because of Van Halen's solo, and because it's not like a whole lot of his other music.  Alien Ant Farm's cover of Smooth Criminal is pretty good, too.

I love Michael's music. I listened to it a ton when I was little. My parents had Dangerous on CD. That was my first intro to it. I also watched Moonwalker 15 or more times back then. I didn't like anything he did after Dangerous, except for his duet with Janet. It was in college that I looked back at his early stuff with the Jackson 5.

BTW: I didn't mind listening to Alien Ant Farm's cover, but I hated the video...that lead singer looked like an idiot and reminded me of a cousin.
