Title: Custom Famicom pirated cart
Post by: corisco on August 01, 2009, 07:29:00 am
I got this pretty good game (thx JC!) and I started to thinking on make a box and a new label for it.
After some time on Photoshop, finally I finished the box and the label. Now I'm working on the manual, but is no information enough about this game ( the only I got is from a old Nintendo Power that I found on the internet), so I think it will take some weeks.
I'm not good on Photoshop, but I think the result is better than the "original"art ;)

the box - took the case from a very cheap Namcot game

original cart ( I like this guy's face :D )

on the new case and new label (I don't like thiscart  color but was the only one I got)

The next game will be easer: Aladdin!

The cover looks great!
I would believe it if you said it was a retail package. :o

Was it easy enough to mount the pirate board inside the main (new) case?

When I did mine I had to support a bit with extra cushion 'bushes'.

Me, too.
I'd go as far to say it's one of my favorite cart colors.

Nice job on the cover art it looks very professional. I like the original cart and artwork over the new version though :P

Corisco did you heat seal the sides back together?  Some pirate carts I have do that, after they knife the cart in two.  Saves shattered carts.

I had no problem, because luckily the pirate board had the same shape of the original board.

When I opened the carts, I didn't break it, luckily again, I don't know what's the best way to fix :-\

Whoa! Great job! This is exactly the kind of thing the Famicom cover project needs! http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=418.0

I'm hoping skilled photoshoppers like corisco will get on board with this. As these pics prove, cased Famicom games ROCK. The only difference is that he's using Namcot cases which are rare and require sacrifice of the origila Namcot game while the cover project uses brand new universal media cases that can fit nearly anything from Famicom to SNES to Genesis to N64.

Was it a NamcoT box or was it a standard VHS box? Thanks for answering my question, you must've got lucky ;)

Famicom games fit very nicely in Sega Genesis cases.
