Nice work - can I ask a potentially dumb question?
What do the codes mean? Are they the mappers or something like that? The sound chip / device added?
The extra sound capabilities are usually integrated into the mapper chip, so you could say that the codes mean both the mapper and the sound generator.

I don't believe Vs. Super Mario Bros was released on FDS at all, but correct me if I am incorrect.
VS SMB wasn't, but there was SMB on disk. Maybe that's what he was talking about.
Add Santa Claus no Treasure Box for the FDS
The codes are the names of the chips that give the expansion sound and exrtra memory (memory mappers).

This list is still incomplete. I will update it (or someone else) when more are discovered.
There wasn't a VS. SMB officially released on the Famicom, what are you talking about when you refer to it?
I meant the Lost Levels.
Corrected.

Moero!! Pro Yakyuu '88 - Kettei Ban (Bases Loaded 2)
It has a built-in ROM storing ADPCM compressed sound samples, unfortuantely you are not able to directly access them unless the chip were a OTP EPROM instead.
Since no emulator supports it nor nsf player, I have a .wav file from real hardware. This is from a Shin Moero!! Pro Yakyuu cart.

Both Mitokoumon and Mitokoumon - Sekai Manyuu (Mitokoumon II) - Use a soundchip that runs sound through the DMC channel for voices made by Sunsoft in 1987. emulation does support this chip surprisingly as it plays in the nsf since it uses the DMC channel.
AFAIK, neither the FDS SMB nor SMB2 use the FDS extra-sound channels. SMB doesn't seem to have any different sound than its respective cartridge version, and SMB2 uses the same sounds as its predecessor.
Is this incorrect? For what should I be listening that I don't hear?
-Xious
SMB2j actually uses the FDS sound expansion hardware, but only during the ending melody.
133MHz is correct
I already knew that. Super Mario Bros. Vs is Super Mario Bros. 2 (The Lost Levels or For Super Players). the NSF had the name confused for Super Mario Bros. VS. Sheesh!
Well he answered Xious's question, which is what Rob64 was reassuring.
