One day while looking at the controller ports of my Atari 5200, I realized that they looked similar to the Famicom's expansion port. Does anybody know if it will work if you use a Famicom controller(such as the Hudson or Hori ones) on a Atari 5200? I would test it myself using my Hudson controller, but I don't have the switchbox for my Atari 5200 so I can't test it.
I don't know, but you could try it the other way round. Try using a 5200 controller on your Famicom. If that works, it possibly is ok the other way round, too. Maybe not... I'm not good with tech stuff.
i thought all ataris used 9 pin controllers like the genesis and SMS. guess i was wrong.
The 5200 was the...how should I say this...runt of the Atari home console family.
the uhmm FAIL of Atari :D
AFAIK it won't work (of course i can be wrong) - just like a joystick from Atari XL/XE on a Famiclone and vice versa (both have same DB9 plugs).
so im right?
