It's pink, says "FMC Card Checker" on it, and I've never seen one before until now.

Looks like it might be an internal Nintendo product or something? Really not sure here at all. Just got it so I haven't had a chance to do anything more than test it and see if it works (it does). Has anyone here ever seen one before?

Dunno what that says, though, and I'd rather not speculate based on Google Translator :P
Could this be a head alignment disk? :o
MANUEL, GET IN HERE
:P
I think it's the test disk for the FDS -- just like the test cart for the Famicom. Probably tests the functionality of the head, maybe the controllers, etc. I've been wanting to see one for a long time. The pink disk was mentioned before but I'd never actually seen one until now.
heres the crappy google translation uglyjoe was talkin bout.

Yeah, that's why I didn't post it...
I'm waiting for the manuel translation :P
My own loose translation:

Pink Disk (Disk Card Inspection Program FMC Card Checker)
When disk cards were rewritten at a store this was used to check if the rewriting was done properly and to make sure there was no damage.
This was of course not an article for sale so one copy per store was distributed.
To operate simply follow the directions once the disk is inserted. If there is a game error number a big OX will be displayed.
It is not known how many copies exist. We request any information available.
Sounds like it scans disks for bad sectors. Neat.
I think it'd be cool to own this and a Famicom test cart. How much do those go for?
wow that's a sweet find. I would love to see a video on how it works in a disk system.
We also need some more Famicom Dojo videos! C'mon! :P
I agree
i liked its color ^^, i wish all Disk System cames where colorfull as the famicom carts

Haha, sorry guys, I was a bit busy and just saw it now. But fortunately rising_stuff was there to help.
Just the one line is a bit different.
It says that only some stores received one, not "one per store". This would make it quite rare I guess.

oh yeah, you're right. :) Thanks.
As for famicom dojo videos, We just helped film a segment for it last week. On this exact item actually. So that will be going up... hmm... eventually? I just help film so I don't really know when it will be released. But in the meantime, I'm sure Sean/TheOrange would be delighted if you picked up the DVD of season 1

Link?
For those of you who have it, would you want to sell/trade your copy of this disk? If so, shoot me a PM.
I'd want one too, if you have seconds of one.
I saw a demonstration of this cartridge when I first got into import gaming. From what I understand from the video, the cartridge could be used to test if the disk you were using was bad or your disk reader. You put the checker in, it displays some Japanese, then you take it out and put another disk in. If a circle is displayed, the cartridge is good. If an x is displayed, the cartridge is bad.
