Hey guys. I recently made a video showing off the various arcade sticks I own and am curious as to what console arcade sticks you own, use and would recommend. Maybe also any tips or discussion on building your own with authentic arcade parts.
For those interested, here's a link to me showing off my collection.

I own a PS2 Tekken 5 Hori Stick, a Quickshot NES Joystick, and an Advantage.
I remember getting the Advantage from a FuncoLand years ago for $4 because the clerk messed up when he was ringing up the price. I got the Quickshot for $2 at my favorite local classic game shop a few months back (Next Level for any who were wondering). The Hori stick was definitely the most expensive, being part of the Tekken 5 Limited Edition bundle that came out when Tekken 5 came out on the PS2 ($100 for the bundle, essentially $50 for the game, and $50 for the stick and other crap the bundle came with).
I don't use any of them that much but they've never let me down when I do use them. I know they're all the ball style joysticks rather than the bats. From what I've been told, at least on the fighting game scene anyway, the ball-style tends to be more Japanese while the bat style is more American.
I also have heard that sanwa parts are pretty much the best for upgrades or building from scratch.
A friend of mine has one of the dual X-Arcade sticks, never tried it so I dunno how it is. Another friend has a Super Advantage for the SNES which is quite nice.
I've previously owned a Super Advantage, but greatly prefer the ASCIIware SNES controller I shown off in the video. The SNES Advantage in my opinion, does not live up to the NES Advantage. Now I sort of wish I hadn't have sold my Super Advantage - it's a fairly uncommon item around here. Then again, its not so good so......
In the end, regardless of the quality of the stick, I think the key is simply to get used to it and make it your own. With enough practice, you learn the kinks of your equipment and learn to bring out its full potential. In that regard, with practice, any stick is good in the right hands.
I own a NAMCO Stick for the ps1 (black/yellow) modded with a LS-32 by the best arcade spec in Poland :p
Also, I Have a custom stick I made myself.
I got a couple of EX2 HORIs for 360 that I use for SF4. I gave my virtua fighter 5 high grade PS3 stick away...
Guys, I'd love to see pics of your sticks (that sounds so gay but you know what I mean ;D) I'll add pics of my arcade sticks later. I'd also like to track down a decent shell so I can build my own. any suggestions anyone?
What system is it for? The custom stick threads on shoryuken.com would be a good first call. Mine are not modded at all I just plan to put new buttons in. The balltop is fine for me.
Rather than post all my sticks, just check out my blog

I've got an X-Arcade 2 player joystick thing that's really nice for MAME... >_> But like half the buttons are sticky. Maybe one day I'll get in there with some WD40.
Mind posting pics? I'd love to see what arcade sticks you guys have.
Wow nice video! I really like the first stick you showed.
I just use a HORI EX2 for 360, google has an excellent gallery ;)
