Hiya i have a few questions. 1) i got a PS2 slim. Can this play ps1 games? And 2) anyone have ps1 reccomendations for a platform/fighter/shmup fan? Id appreciate any help.
1) Of course.
2) don't know on that one. Unhhhh.... I got nothing.
If you're able to modify your PS2 to play burnt discs, I recommend Thrill Kill. :P I also like the first 4 Twisted Metal games, which are all on the PS1, and Resident Evil.
Thunder Force V is a great horizontal shmup -- highly recommended. Raystorm and Raycrisis are fun, if not a little weird. Einhander is cool, but made by Square so it will probably be overpriced.
Silhouette Mirage is interesting but kinda difficult. It's made by Treasure, so you know there's some good gameplay if you can deal with the difficultly.
Ok, yea ive played silhoette mirage on saturn its fun. Thanks for the help guys! Ill check out some of those games. Any good platformers? 2 or 3d?
I think this is more of an adventure game, but the first 3 Spyro The Dragon games are on the PS1. I have a collectors edition that has all three, and my favorite is probably 2.
Worms, Crash Bandicoot, and most importantly, Symphony of the Night.
All greats suggestions! This weekend ill see how many of these i can pick up. Have any of you guys played either gex or croc? How are they
If you'd like a racing game, I'd suggest crash team racing.
Gex 1 was pretty much the only reason to own a 3DO. The PS1 has some of my favorite games of all time:
Castlevania Chronicles
Gunbird (localized as Mobile Light Force)
Megaman 8
Megaman X4
Megaman X5
Megaman Legends
Megaman Legends 2
Misadventures of Tron Bonne
Rhapsody: a Musical Adventure
You might also want to check out the original Soul Blade, the first game in the Soul Calibur series. Enjoy your "So-a-fee-ah" and "Mah-Zee" ;D
Ah i was planning to find soul blade. What do you think is the cheapest good game i can get? On saturday when i go to the game exchange, ill have about 40 bucks

Oh man, I don't know how I forgot about those. Seconded!
Everyone that has a PS1/2/3 needs Metal Gear Solid.
Metal Gear Solid, Yes. It's pretty much my favorite game.
I usually like more button bashing type games. But ill give MGS a shot. How much does it usually sell for?
Is there a Metal Gear Trilogy for PS2? Would anyone recommend it?
Yes, but it just has the barebones MGS2 and the MGS3 included is the inferior Snake Eater.
