A loose disk system definitely isn't worth over $100 just for the heads up.

I have a loose disk system but no extra RAM adapter. The belt was replaced but I haven't had time to tweak it into working shape.
by "tweak" what do you mean?
Whenever you replace a belt (and maybe a few other times), you need to adjust the belt with something like a small screwdriver to get it to spin at the right speed. Otherwise, even with a new belt, it still won't read disks correctly. I've never had to replace mine yet, as it came with a new one installed already, but when I do, I have full confidence in myself because the process is, from what I've seen, pretty easy.
so you have tweaked it or not and how easy is it
It's not hard to tweak, but it takes patience. I used Copymaster to tune the drive speed after multiple failed attempts at getting it just right by trial and error. Now instead of loading 75% of games, it loads 100%. But, you have to have a Game Doctor & a standalone drive to use the program. It's doable without it, too, but you have to use trial and error with multiple disks. It's also a good idea to check the felt pad that rides along the top of the disk--when it's thin or hard, it can scratch your disks or give error 27 messages. You can replace it with a donor from a standard cassette player.
