Title: Want to win a signed DSi?
Post by: michaelthegreat on January 07, 2010, 02:44:46 am
Want to win a DSi signed by longtime Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma? I'm in a kotaku contest where I can win that DSi, a $1000 gift card, and more. If you help me win the kotaku contest and I win, I'll give you a chance to win the DSi from me!

Go here:

http://kotaku.com/5441513/the-eleven-zelda-fan-finalists-vote-now (http://kotaku.com/5441513/the-eleven-zelda-fan-finalists-vote-now)

Vote for MichaeltheGreat's entry "When You Die Pamphlets".

Do one of the following 2:

-Enter by replying to this topic:  Vote for MichaeltheGreat's entry "When You Die Pamphlets" and reply to this post that you voted for me. If you do this, I'll put your name in twice (two chances)  to win.

-Enter by email:Vote and email zelda@fastmail.us.  Their email subject should be "I voted for Michael" and put your full name in the email. I'll put your name in once for the DSi (one chance). If you have friends vote and they want to give you their chance, have them write "I give my chance to <username> at <website>".

You can vote at kotaku once per day. But you can only enter my contest once. Vote everyday because if I don't win, there is no DSi contest! :)

Extended rules:

-Post in a forum or send me an email by 5am Mountain time January 11th, 2010.
-Don't cheat. Don't find ways to circumvent Kotaku's one vote per day rule!
-If things happen beyond my control, everything is void.
-I'll have a couple trusted people help me randomly pick the winner in an open process. Any suggestions for trusted people?

FAQ:

--Can we post this to more message boards?
Sure, the email option would be open to anyone.

--What if you don't win?
Then you just wasted another 5 minutes on the internet. Like that's any different than normal.

If you mean on this forum, I think anyone on the FW staff is pretty reliable. ;)

I also voted.

I'm sorry Michael but I liked the other entries more, though yours was probably the most original.

If I'm honest I think it's really unsporting to tour forums and ask people to vote for you like this.  If you win will you share the $1000 prize too??

I'm friends with Brian Ashcraft from Kotaku and I have half a mind to tell him about this, but because I'm not actually that much of an asshole and it basically just shows how much you want to win this I won't.  In fact I might even vote just out of admiration for all the effort, I'm still deciding.

I dont feel like I'm doing anything wrong. If you'd like a list of where I posted this, let me know! I don't think you're an asshole if you tell him, especially if you feel you should. If you think something's right, you should do it!

I'm planning on sharing the $1000 part with the guy who did the artwork I used, but I'm still not sure if you have to go to the store to use the gift certificate. If so, I might not be using it for a while! :) But really, what does that matter? . I feel that if you wanted the whole prize, you should have entered the contest.

I don't think it's unsporting. I'm sure the two winners are getting their friends/collegues/families to vote for the. But to each there own. I don't want to sound like I'm arguing here. Just discusing it.

I don't think I have too much of a chance seeing I'm at 4%, but I'm not going down without a fight... :)

Either way, if you're only on 4% you have my vote.  I thought yours was better than most of them, I didn't like the video at all.  I did like the costume one a lot though.  The triforces were a bit knee-jerk so like I said yours was probably the most original, hat's off.

Yeah, I've probably got 100 or more votes and am still at 4% so I think I've lost the ability to catch up--especially as everyone keeps getting votes! :)

So if 100 votes are 4%, that would mean there are 2500 votes. So if I suddenly got 500 votes, I could win--but that's only if the other guys don't get more votes.

They didn't warn the finalists that this was starting, so by the time I noticed it already looked like it looks like now... :) I thought I'd at least try!

Thanks for your help guys!

Thanks guys! Didn't win, but wasn't at the bottom!!!  ::)

Thought about posting that I won and that MS-DOS4 won the DSi, but decided that it might not be taken as a good joke!  ;D
