Can anyone confirm the unconfirmed BIC/Codemasters Famicom games with a photo or other info. I'm looking to see if there are official BIC carts for the unconfirmed (I've seen what looks like a pirated Big Nose: The Caveman):

edit: oh whoops. I didn't read.
I guess all I can offer you now is that it also came in a weird looking box. (http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b182/BEAVERTRON/famicom/DSC00687.jpg)
Pegasus 4in1? Thats what my quattro arcade is called in-game. Have you seen a cart with a Pegasus 4in1 label?
I based my list on the NES titles. There's definitely a unique label for Famicom Pegasus 5 in 1, but I'm not sure 4 in 1 is different from Quattro Arcade.
If that silver box is the one you're talking about, that's not the box that originally came with that game.
JC, according to jbholio's site and my Polish sources there is a "Big Nose: The Caveman" game cartridge - i saw it and had it years ago so You can consider it as a "confirmed" title ;-)
Also (once again jbholio's site comes handy) the "Pegasus 4in1" cart is the same as "Quattro Arcade" BUT there was a two different sets of games on "Quattro Arcade" - the one i know from Poland :

and the other from jbholio's site (never saw it in my life, especially as a FC cart) :

Final word for that "Pegasus 5in1" aka "Golden Five" in Poland, here it is :

Nice, so that just leaves Quattro Sports and any other games I don't know about. For example, Videomation isn't a Codemasters title, from what I can tell, but it was released by BIC and is an original.

just came across this via a polish forum:
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_tbPUSWhIUVo/SwzoJB0PmyI/AAAAAAAAAtc/qW5ALAY3fRQ/BIC_cardridge_iq-502.jpg
most of the games are already known, but you can see Fire Dragon (i'm assuming this is the Snake clone by Gamtec) and the other version of Quattro Arcade towards the back.
Hmm...wonder if Fire Dragon was just in the ad pic or was actually released.

I have a picture of a 72 pins black NES cartridge with the same label. It doesn't say BIC on it but it has the Gametec logo on the upper right side of the label. If I remembre correctly, I got the picture from a brazilian auction site.
and another BigNose single :

Hate to bump a thread this old, but have a question. Some of the games were released in NES boxes, and then had trays in them to fit the Famicom games (i.e. look at the pic of Fantastic Dizzy). Does anyone know if these games were also released in small box form? I have a CIB Bic Mig 29, and it has the regular NES box, and was wondering if Bic had ever released it in a smaller box, more the appropriate size of a Famicom game.
I think Videomation, which was the first release iirc, was the only BIC with a small box for Famicom. They learned their lessons, and probably to reduce costs decided to release them in the same boxes with plastic inserts to hold the smaller carts.

Cool, that is very interesting.
I now wonder just how many different manuals were included with these games. They all seem to have included the generic Codemasters NES manual, but I noticed that the copies meant to be sold in Poland for the Pegasus included Polish manuals, and the copy I had found in Taiwan of Mig 29 included a Chinese manual. Makes me wonder if other special paper manuals were included for other releases around the globe, and where all these games were then distributed.

Hey welcome, mimipo.
That's some nice BIC collection you have.

Mind showing more of your collection, I am very curious after reading this ;D ?
I know someone that coded some of these - he wants to upload some source code for the community. I said, "I know a forum where you could do that" :)
I wouldn't mind looking at the source code of commercial games. :)

RHDN has some source code (http://www.romhacking.net/?page=documents&category=13&platform=1&game=&author=&perpage=20&level=&title=&desc=&docsearch=Go). Not all of those are complete games, but a few of them are.
Yes, thanks. :)
Please correct your main post. All is confirmed! :)

IMO, some official cart releases were not in the official BIC shells.
BIC-published games were released prior to Realtec ones. BIC published released reused the Camerica boxes, for the most part.
Realtec-published games were mostly housed in plastic Sega-like cases, though the carts seem to be identical to their BIC brethren. To distinguish between BIC and Realtec is just a technicality, imo, sort of like Sachen vs Thin Chen.
Some of these games have a couple different label designs. Videomation's two label designs is because of two different publishers, BIC published in Taiwan, Brazil, etc, another publisher in Hong Kong. Actually, the Videomation listed as "BIC other version" was published for the HK market by a different company, not BIC. And since Western Technologies had made that game, actually the only thing BIC did was make the cases and PCBs (and BIC had made the PCBs for the Camerica NES games too, hehe).
For some BIC/Realtec games, there were some released in more - generic cases. But these are also official product.
I do have what seems to be a bootleg Robin Hood though, as the label is very...er odd. The mold is still a BIC mold though, and the back matches up too, so who knows on that one.
It's weird for me to see these as many, most, if not all were released here in England as official (licensed by Nintendo) games. I grew up with Dizzy games on Spectrum and MegaDrive.
I know WHY Codemasters went the unlicensed in the Americas but I was just thinking where thy got the name from and then it dawned on me - Camerica = Codemasters America.
How did I not realise this before? And then why the change to Realtec?
Hi L___E___T, I've seen you mention different times about the Codemasters games being licensed by Nintendo in England, but the only Codemasters games I have seen released in Europe on Nintendo were all still unlicensed. I would love to see some evidence on the contrary if you have any, since you are living in the UK and I do not.
Also, Codemasters and Realtec were different companies.
