Title: I think I miss my Twin Fami
Post by: 2A03 on February 01, 2010, 07:36:56 pm
I've been using an AV Fami+FDS setup for about a couple of years now, and even though it works very well for my Famicom and NES needs, I still miss my old Twin Famicom. Should I get another one when the opportunity arises?

I think so.

I've been wanting one like crazy as of lately. It's definitely going to be my next buy. That is, if I can find one at a decent price.

Whats the point if you already have a working Fami and Disk System? ::)

They're pretty neat. I too have an A/V and FDS setup but it would be nice to have a mic for the few games that used it. It'd also be a nice piece for collection's sake and if I'm not mistaken, it only uses one AC Adapter.

Heck, if you wanted to use only the disk system portion of it, a RAM adapter coming out of the twin will work on a standard or A/V Famicom.

I'd also like a Famicom Titler to see glorious 8-bit S-video but those are pretty rare as far as I can tell.

All good points. It does seem like a pretty cool machine. I like their design. For me though, I just need to get a working Famicom :P

Well, with the TwinFami setup, you only need one AC adapter! Less leads for ya :) also with the later AN-505 model, there's build in turbo buttons.. :) :)

I ended up saving quite a bit of money buying a "broken" system. Turns out the mic contacts needed cleaning.
