Title: Best place to buy a Nintendo Famicom?
Post by: FamicomRetroGamer on March 24, 2010, 06:58:47 pm
Since I've returned the one I had, I'm looking for options to buy a Famicom.

I've got informed about JapanGameStock, they provide high quality with good prices, but does it exist a website that sells official's Famicom for a bit less?

Thanks!

http://www.risingstuff.com/ (http://www.risingstuff.com/)

They only have one in right now, but when they get more in they will be cheap.

I got mine on ebay without cables or anything for $65, for an extra $15 you can get a Retro-Bit power adapter and RF switch that will work.

Anywhere that you find it for a decent price. I got almost all my Famicom stuff from featherplucknfilms on ebay. Too bad the store doesn't still exist.

I too got lucky with all my Famicom stuff on eBay.

Started off with a complete (DC Adapter, AV Cable, and 2 japanese Dogbones) AV Famicom with a bunch of games for maybe a hundred bucks. Then restored a "junk" Famicom that I got for $25.

I got both my Famicom and FDS, and quite a few games from Famicomshop.com, which is now http://disk-kun.com/shop (US seller)  It opened up again sometime early this year or late last year to actually sell stuff.  Right now, Carl's just selling handbills, but I'm sure he'll get more stuff in the future.
