Title: Mario has friends in SMB!
Post by: L___E___T on April 28, 2010, 04:55:08 pm
OK I'm sharing this round as I'm guessing a few people didn't see it yet.

Mario.  In SMB.  Only much, much more.  I am loving this so much I'm just going to post a screen and wait for the penny to drop...

YES it plays perfectly! Each character has been implemented with a labour of love.
Megaman feels, looks, sounds like he did in Megaman 3.  Samus even more so.
Please just try it out and have fun exploring the added tidbits.

If Newgrounds is blocked just google Super Mario Crossover for another mirror of it.

...Thoughts??

That was great! Only gripe is the Z and X buttons needed to be swapped.

Pretty cool.  The physics seem a bit off for everybody, but it's a Flash game so it's to be expected.  Definitely played much better than I expected.

You can reconfigure the keys from the main menu.

In the website of the creator, says it was made in about one year, and the guy who created it started knowing nothing about programming  :o

My RetroPort doesn't seem to work on my new laptop. (http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr343/JediQuestMaster/undecided.gif)

Otherwise, my only gripe is which Link was used - he seems to carry the same physics as his Zelda II counterpart.

Perhaps they should have used the Zelda 2 sprite. Wouldn't make sense to put in a Link from an overhead view game into a side scrolling platformer.

I liked that they put child Link in.  To me child Link will always be the true Link.  Adult Link is a fanboy impersonator.  Obviously he couldn't put the top down mechanics in, I think he made all the right choices, including Belmont's double jump.
