Since I still don't own a current gen console, is it possible that this game could be called the "Street Fighter 4 for PS2"?
I've seen a video of the gameplay and liked it very much.
Despite being the same game at heart, they're in completely different leagues.
I don't know what it is, but I've never liked the EX Series. I know it's definitely not the 3D thing because I really like IV.
SFEX3 has the tag-team mechanic that if you know what you're doing can be really fun. It's not as good as the Focus Attack system in SF4 though and that's a minor addition really.
Best bet? Grab the Street Fighter Collection for PS2 (USA or JP) as it has SF3 3rd strike in, which you'll positively love. It's still the best in the series.
There's the Street Fighter Alpha Collection as well which is worth picking up for cheap and has a whole host of extra modes and versions made.
SFEX3 and SF4 series are bothe 3D, but the similarities basically end there and EX is not at all as good I'm afraid to tell. I loved EX1 and 2 though for what it's worth.
Of course you can play any of the 2D SF games online though and I would also recommend that, let me know if you need pointers :)
You want good fighters for the PS2? Check out Arcana Heart or if you're into imports, Melty Blood: Actress Again. Both very very good 2D sprite based fighters.
EX series is different from the main series.
i like the EX series. I love the combo's and mixed it with super. ;)
