Title: Need help of expert 8-bit gamers... BGM identification "quiz"
Post by: mgman on July 07, 2010, 08:13:45 pm
Now I mean expert in the sense that when you hear a music track, you might be able to identify which game it came from. Again, it's the 8-bit domain I'm positive.

Need to know if anyone's interested. It would really do me a big favor as I'm trying to find out.

Could you post it here? I might know it, i've beaten hundreds of NES games, and I usually remember what the music sounds like.

Ok here are two fan-made games. Keep in mind that they are made in The Games Factory, so don't be surprised if it doesn't control well. The first one is easy to access the music:

For the above game, at the title screen, press control+shift+enter at the same time 2 or 3 times. You'll access the BGM menu.

This one might prove to be harder since there seems to be no BGM menu. But the easy way I see it is that there is a cheat you can use to easily traverse the stages: get game over by intentionally losing all your lives. When you restart, it may seem like you have 0 lives, but you have infinite. Just DON'T touch a 1-up during this state.

Thanks a lot, that really helped :)

Finally, I suppose help with only 1 more track would be helpful.

I wonder if anyone knows BGM 11?

Here's a youtube video I made sometime back (HORRIBLE sound quality don't use headphones):
