I came across this while perusing some other sites:

Apparently, there was some kind of competition in Nippon that involved designing artwork as Famicom cart labels and this site showcases a lot of them.

Yeah it's awesome, it's an annual thing, been going for about 4 years now I think.  I'm always inspired by their software ideas and interpretations of box art.  Especially as it's made up of guest designers, creative folks like DJs or fashion designers that source from old memories or fresh ideas outside of the norm.

There are times when a new homebrew Atari game is in the works where the production group/person holds contests for label art. It's really cool, and a great way for fans to get involved.
