Title: Family Basic sealed?
Post by: i heart yuna on August 26, 2010, 09:01:43 pm
Did the family basic set come shrink wrapped when it was new? I just bought a "sealed" and "new" set on Ebay. I don't really care if it's a reseal because I am going to open it anyway, I was just curious. It doesn't strike me as being very likely.

As far as I know, neither games or any accessories (and possibly even the Famicom itself) were never sealed.

Even today a lot of new Japanese products are not sealed, so I'd say it is a safe bet to assume stuff from the Famicom era weren't either.

Well, today most of the stuff is sealed, but not necessarily with shrink wrap. Normal games are wrapped in plastic, but games with a bigger box around them (like SMG2, which includes a "how to play" DVD, thus the extra packaging) are only sealed with a little sticker. But the game inside is wrapped in plastic.
