Title: 1970s and 80s news clips about video games -Must watch
Post by: senseiman on September 13, 2010, 05:59:20 pm
CBC is doing a special about video games.  On their website they've put up some awesome news clips from their archives about video games originally broadcast in the 70s and 80s which are definitely worth a watch for anyone interested in retro gaming history:

I really like the 1976 program about the "Pong" craze.  The hairstyles and clothing worn by the customers at the department store are just awesome (one guy even smoking a pipe as he plays).

Not a single video worked. Tried both on Safari and Firefox.

Hmm, thats strange.  I use Firefox and it loads OK for me.  Might be some sort of regional block on it or something?

Haha. I like the shop owner with the porn mustache talking about Custer's Revenge: "It's, uh...the graphics aren't bad in the game."

LMAO, I thought that was a pretty choice comment as well.

I get sound, but only a green screen.
Maybe a codec problem? (I have the K-lite codec pack installed, but maybe I'm missing something?)

I'd love to see the videos.  :-\
