hey just wanted to know if anyone out there wanted mother one to be released :)
Original Mother was a wonderful game on Famicom!
I don't really think it matters since the officially translated ROM has been distributed in several ways. If Nintendo did release it officially, that would be pretty cool, but I bet it wouldn't make that big of a difference to people as, for example, something like Mother 3.
I'm confused - do you mean in Virtual Console form? I'm sure it would get picked up and porting costs next to nothing for an 8-bit game.
Thanks to Nintendo's marketing team, we lost out on one other great game. >:(

It wasn't really the marketing team, it was just too late in the NES life-span to release a game like mother. It wouldn't have seen any profit. The marketing team had kickass ideas, very similar to how earthbound was eventually marketed in the states.
From the places I read, it was quite the opposite. Hell, they were almost in production with guides and everything before they decided to squash it.
Nintendo always leaves out great japan only games when they come to america...damn you nintendo be like sega dont hold back

Here's a Famicom repro that ended recently. I would have bid but it went too high. I ended up bidding on the FFIII repro he was selling and I got that for $50.
The FFIII and Mother repro are two of the few Famicom reproduction carts I've ever seen. Usually, people do NES Reproductions instead.
hard-ass-motherfucking game to beat. i was stuck on mt itoi for 2 years.
