Title: My proposed "super" NES
Post by: petik1 on November 29, 2010, 09:54:29 am
I think a few of you will find this interesting. The nes can play famicom games with an adapter. It can handle the extra sound channels with a little modification. How about FDS? I plan to make an "adaptor" if you will, which will merely consist of an nes cart board with contacts severed, and pins soldered to another cart connector. Of course, it will have its own housing, heat shrink tube, etc. Along with a FC to nes adaptor, this should allow you to hook up the fds ram adaptor to a nes. That isn't it howerver. At retro zone, they have a board which can be installed to dump nes roms. This requires to drill a hole in the nes plastic. I dont want to drill, soI want to desolder the usb connector, and rewire it to the expansion port pins that lead to the cart connector. From there, the previously unused pins will be connected to a usb femal connector.

Comments or suggestions anyone?

EDIT: also, can anyone confirm that the pins connected to the expansion slot arent used for anything at all? Im pretty sure they werent but id like to be 100% sure.
