So I just finished Pokemon Ruby and was wondering which is the Pokemon game with the most Pokemon available? I'm think of buying Silver or Gold and play through that one then transfer my Pokemon from Leaf Green, Ruby, and Emerald over to that one to have them ready to transfer them to Black or White(Haven't decided yet). Any tips on compatibility of Pokemon games would be helpful.
I definitely think HeartGold and SoulSilver have the most Pokemon available. You can catch Pokemon from all four generations after you beat the main game. One thing for sure is that Black and White will only contain Pokemon from the 5th generation until after the main game. You will not see any Pokemon from any of the older generations until a certain point.
kewl, then I guess Silver or Gold are the best choices.
Not the original GS, I'm talking about HGSS for the DS. Obviously GS doesn't have Pokemon from all four generations because half of them weren't created yet. :P
Yeah I know what you mean GS for the DS of course! I need to get me a DS again....had to sell my old one to pay bills during some tough times...
when everyone bought HGSS i bought the original gold and silver

we seriously need to do some wi-fi battles.
I have no one to test my team with :'(
I'd love to WiFi battle with someone on here. I've done quite a few battles with people on Youtube, but apparently I'm pretty good. :P
and that's a bad thing? go kick ass just make sure you record it and share it here.
I recorded a few (mostly uber) battles and posted them on my old Youtube account (famicomdork). I haven't done that for a long time though. When I get my new camera and people on here want to battle I'll most likely upload those to Youtube too if it's okay with the other person.
sounds like a plan. I'll make sure to take notes on your battle tactics. I only played wifi pokemon like a year ago with this snotty girl ....got my ass handed to me! She did a lot of trash talk on the mic too!
I think that legendaries should be banned from online play. It doesn't make the game fair at all you know...it's totally lame!
I think it's okay as long as you specify beforehand that you can use them. I hate the fact that you actually need to specify such a thing though. Most of the time, if you just ask someone to battle, you'll have a legitimate team, and then the other person just has a bunch of uber Pokemon. I think they shouldn't be allowed to be used unless you say before the battle that you can use them.
It's funny how they don't allow you to use them in the battle tower in pokemon ruby at least for gareon whatever the name is and you can use them online....
FF, keep in mind that all transfers from one generation of games to the next is a one way trip. If you get any of the Gen 4 DS games, you can transfer your Gen 3 Ruby Pokemon, but only after you beat the game and once you put them in the new games, they dissipear from the old ones. Works with the same with the Gen 5 Black and White versions.
so will I be able to transfer from lets say soul silver to the black or white games?
Yes, that's what he said. You cannot, however, transfer Pokemon from 5th gen games to 4th gen games.
oh yeah that's for sure, I was aware of that already. Thanks for clearing things up.
something else to keep in mind: the transfers are region specific.
As I have discovered, you cannot transfer English Pokemon into Japanese games in this way. Only Japanese gen 4 games can transfer into Japanese gen 5 games. I assume it will be the case whenever Black and White come out in English.
I got another copy of Fire Red which had a pokedex of 147 so I figure I will just use those Pokemon and transfer them to heart gold when I get them in the weekend. I already played through it and it has the Pokemon I wanted anyways which is Charizard at a nice level too (38) so I can use it while I'm playing through heart gold. Hmm maybe I should use it since the beginning of the quest so that I can feel how Ash felt when Charizard wouldn't listen LOL
Im training mah Pokemon so I can have a good team for Black & White
Hmm you MicroGenius sound awfully familiar...I don't want to say who I think you are but well I'm sure I know you....
To warn other people, it's Marlon.
oh damn, definently not selling him stuff then.
I figured it was either him or kirayamato. ::)
LOL you guys sure figured it out quick enough :P
All you had to do to find out was click his profile. He should really think about that beforehand if he wants to get rid of his old reputation.
What's in his profile that gave him away? I don't see anything in particular...
Oh, it may only be viewable to the staff then, but his email clearly gives it away.
ahh interesting. Is he going to get banned again? hmmm?
Just a bump here asking for friend codes and if anyone has a tododile to trade me! I'm trying to fill out my pokedex!
for what, gen 4 or gen 5?
I could make my Feraligatr and a Ditto pop one out and give you a freshly hatched one. :P I'll give you my friend code whenever you're on again.
You guys still enjoy Pokémon games/TV series? Great.
Since the original producer passed away, and when the original series ended I lost interest in watching Pocket Monsters, it's basically the same better to watch a show worth it.

it's basically the same
Would you quit saying that about Pokemon? If I enjoy the series (although now it's mainly just the games and not so much the TV series), I'll keep playing the games and will continue to buy the new ones regardless of what
you say. Let Pokemon fans enjoy their game and quit hatin'.
Sheesh.
I just said it two times, lulz.
I don't hate Pocket Monsters, I love it actually, you just don't get that there's a limit for repetition, but it's not your fault, it's Nintendo they're milking their franchises for all they're worth.
Quotethere's a limit for repetition
The irony in this statement is incredible. ;D

Seriously. ::)
Also, you've mentioned Pokemon's repetitiveness much more than twice.
Four of my friends and I are driving 45 minutes to another state to get them at midnight because our local Walmart isn't open at midnight. I'm pumped.
Just a heads-up; purchased Pokemon White today, and I hope that this generation of Pokemon gaming doesn't suck... eh-hem I don't have my friend code ready yet.
i am actually impressed with it.. i picked it up on release day and have been enjoying it. The fact that you won't see any old pokemon until you beat the main story is nice considering you have no clue what pokemon are good or what team you should use.
