mine is the model 1 genesis and the neo geo pocket/color.
Post your favorites!
Love the original NES.
i like it but the original famicom (to me) looks a lot better
Never appreciated the white/red pallet. :-\
anti-japan much?
Uh, No? ::)
I like the Saturn, DC & GC.
Actually I always like how Colecovision looked, I wish I
owned one.
i love that design too. although its big as shit
The best looking system by far to me is the Atari 2600 Heavy Sixer. It's like a piece of furniture!
Outside of that though, is the Super Famicom. Even now, it gives off a feeling of the future. It's sleek, attractive and at the least the one I have doesn't seem to yellow as much as the US model. Go Super Famicom.
Super Famicom and the Model 2 Saturn.
I also like the design of the AV Famicom!
Sega Master System (model 1)

Sega Master System (model 1)
agreed, that was actually my christmas present :D
colecovision? Eh, the only cool looking thing is how you can fit controllers inside it.
Original red and white Famicom.
I hate the design of most consoles after the mid-80s when, starting with the NES and continuing right up to the current generation, they started going with the "make it look as much like a VCR or CD player as possible" motif.
To me, the difference between the Famicom design and the NES design represents fundamentally different philosophies on what a console is.
The Famicom screams out: "Hey, look at me. I am not just another piece of audio/visual equipment. I'm the FAMICOM! Look! Red and white! Doesn't that look fun? I'm unique and screw everything, y'all better look at me. I'm a game console, damnit."
The NES, on the other hand, says: "Don't look. Nothing to see here, folks. Just another piece of audio/visual equipment on the shelf under your TV. Move along, move along. I am NOT a console, I am just another entertainment device like any other. See here? Yeah, gray and black. Just like your cable box and computer modem. Now stop looking at me."
You can imagine at parties hosted by mutual friends the Famicom would be sitting on the sofa drinking beer with the Colecovision and having a good old time, telling off color jokes and making a scene. The NES on the other hand would be much more subdued, mingling with the CD players and VCRs, drinking a wine cooler and wearing a dinner jacket. Putting on airs and all.
At one moment late in the evening, the Famicom and NES would briefly make eye contact. It would be awkward. They belong to different worlds, yet they both know that on the inside, they are one and the same.
I will forever love the boxy spartan look of the NES.
Probably Famicom but NGC/PS3/X360 also have a nice design.
I'll be the first to support SNES! I love the console and the colour even though it's barney's! And the controller compliment it well.
Wish that they'd continue making SNES carts and great cover art boxes. :'(

The European SNES/SFC design is better IMO. Never liked the whole purple/grey motif myself.
I'll go with either the Famicom or the GameCube for my favourite design.
They all look nice, lets leave it that. :)
I miss the past wooden atari, A cell phone release a phone that looked like that, but the magazines called it ugly >:(
That is it. Game systems went from being futuristic devices to media centers, back and forth. That pretty much sums up all game systems.
About ugly, the only thing ugly about a game system is when nobody produce nothing of value for it
I really like the original gameboy. There was a Pocket one modelled like it too - plus the Famicom GBA SP is amazing in my opinion.
I'm not sure why, but I had to own all three - I'm going through some weird gameboy fanaticism lately.
The original NES. I also like its controllers.
Edit: And the NES and Famicom are my favorite consoles.

Agreed.
Although I have to say, PS3 doesn't look very much as a console but more as a Media Centre / Blu-ray Player / DVD Player device.
I love to game on in Xbox 360 (LIVE), but my favourite console? Sega Mega Drive and Sega Dreamcast (don't have neither now with me).
If Sega were to make Dreamcast 2 then Sega could go bankrupt and I wouldn't want that to happen to them. :)
I actually really love how the sharp twin famicom looks. The model 1 japanese megadrive looks pretty awesome too. And the model 2 american genesis looks great. The model 1 super famicom looks pretty amazing as well. And of course the av famicom and nes 2 are great looking systems as well.
Also in regards to controllers I love how the japanese megadrive controllers look, the super famicom controllers, and the dog bone nes / famicom controllers.
The N64 has my favorite design... it's curvy and has a nice outline. Closely behind is the SNES Jr. I love that little guy.
My favorite console, I'd have to say either the PS2 or the Dreamcast. Console design really isn't a big issue to me.
I love the original white Japanese PC Engine, pure awesomeness. Also love the card based games and artwork on them.
Japanese model 1 Mega Drive
Neo Geo Pocket Color - love the digital joystick controller.
Dreamcast - I think it's a very sleek and modern looking device.
Neo Geo AES
AV Famicom and Twin Famicom
oh yeah I totally forgot the slick looking AES
I think for me it's the Super Famicom. The box design makes a big impact on this decision.
Closely followed by the PS1, I remember when I first saw that - it looked like a piece of conceptual product design, just state of the art and it still looks great now. All the other consoles I thought of have aged a great deal.
I would also add the Gameboy to this. I regularly play my gameboy DMG-01s and Gameboy Lights. I love them like the little inanimate children they are.
Well your all going to think I have a few screws missing, BUT, I really liked the looks of the Atari Jaguar. Black sleek and rounded.

Not at all, in fact, the Jaguar is the only console from Atari that I like.
Woodgrain atari!!! I have one around somewhere that thing is classy!! I just wish it worked :(
I think the dreamcast is my favourite. As my brother stated, "it still feels hi-tech". Love those controllers as well, they just melt into my hands and the D-pad is very exact.

The DC's controller is almost perfect, it just missed out a right digital pad stick, and LS/RS (it has LT+LF already).
